  1. It would deffinately fit. Seeing as mithridates gave rome a darn load of hell, and not just pontos, but Parthia gave crassus a good arrow through his armor too, hah.

I would definately choose (if you implement the faction splitting whateverthethingimagighyiswhatever like greeks to macedonians etc.) Pontus and Parthia as two. Seeing as they are both practical oposites.

Pontus: would be the split that implements Phalanxes Combined with light cav, such as horse archers.

Parthia, would of course, why not, get the cataphacts and horse archers mix.

And darn this laptop is hard to type on.

Now that i think about it. thats a good idea, reballances persia for those who want to focus on infantry or cavalry, over archers. imma give Carthage some thought now.

  2. Those fishing ships, they look like the asian tier two (or age two-onward i thinks) Fishing ships! And they look excellent, man, im going to love island based maps in this when you guys be done (or even just the beta i'll be happy with!)

  3. Thats not true, the hoplite defined the hellenistic civilisation, until the makedonians thought of the phalanx to complement their cavalry, and makedonians technically arent hellenes, they arent even greek. (i think)

The makedonians Had nothing to do with the hellenistic time period, for the most part. Alexandros Just conquered greece (i think?) and took his army over the aegean and took everything in a rather > direction, Mainly because the persians would have expanded further should they not done so. and because he wanted land and so did his men.

  4. /r to nick

The game hasn't even got its key gamepay componants so you cant even call it a game yet, and no its not fun, but it will be, it wll be.

But you can play other games that are.. sort of set in this period (rome total war and its respective mods for example.)

The camp needs to be made already darnit! and also, could you have it way away from respective players bases so its actually used as how it should be? (a travelcamp/siegecam/basecamp)

  5. the problem with this is that it has been done, and when it is done, it is either crap... under developed or EXTREMEL LAGGY (rts system = bad for such things)

    exampls of this are...

SharpShooters (map) On Warcraft III, extremely fun but EXTOREeMly laggy, so unless they develop it into the system, which they wont, this probably will not. >.>

  6. Lol 5k pop limit, imagine 5k units having at each other for the map space, wold be lols, whoever massed archers would likely win (imagine how many arrows that would be a second...)

i also didn't like the ships in raf, you practically only needed one to fit 1k men on, (almost literally), i also didnt like the fact you could fit so much people on them, it was just stupid.

hero mode was okay but it needed further developing, but as has been said, they had to rush it to release it >..>

oh yeah, someone get over to Rafcawh and inform them, and make a few seraphs to moderate because im willing to bet that it will be filling up with mods and maps soon >.<

i'd mod a few things (map editor things, eg; make the height tool FREAKING EASIER TO USE!) but.... im not that great in that area (yet-i think i might be taking that kind of thing up but who knows, i may not)

    so meh. >.<

  7. Historical Tut Campaigns are always the best, because they are widely the most enjoyable, how can you do something, expect to learn it, but not enjoy it? I widely enjoyed the Willy Wally Learning campaigns in aok because they were fun, not because i learnt something new, because they were fun, >.>

  8. Hellsyeah, even though i havent exactly played spore i guess you mean the same general thing, and yeah, i would enjoy building things from scratch in the editor, would make eyecandying for me so much more.... fun? i always get bored redoing the same @#$% and the same @#$% over and over and over again in wc3 (even with modded buildings and doodads, i get bored too easly sadface!)

  9. - do you want tribes to have passive AI soldiers, defending their village? Thus making you calculate the benefits of conquering this tribe or 'nation' outpost.

If you want this village to be destroyable : how will this work? will the village be one entity to destroy?

Seriously, i wouldnt have the slightest idea, but my best guess would be the 'village', or town, or war camp even, would be a single entity, as for the ai, more like agressive ai (or you can set passive/agressive) so if agressive, they would say '@#$% you diplomacy' and attack you for just being nearby them, passive would try to be diplomatic and find ways around fighting you and having war as a last resort, so they would be as the french do and say.

    "I surrender!"

Darn i wanna play AoC now and get pwnfked by the flemms or something. (im referring to age of chivalry, not conquerers.)

  10. You know, wouldnt be surprised if individual roman merchants visited indonesia--or even australia, those little aborigines would have been impressed by their sharp and shiny sticks (gladius aka) but refused to trade with them, who knows, they could have made it to the americas even, and left no real mark apart from influencing pottery and weaponry for the locals. Certainly WE do not know for certain, do we?

  11. Been playing the game called "Grand Ages Rome" (Demo) And found some most interesting factors that attribute to its gameplay, the barbarian villages! (only got to play with one), and thought they would be most interesting to have in 0ad!

The basic idea of them, is they are (in practicallity) a big buildng like thing, with one entrance (like i said, only one, could be two entrances if you like) with a barbaric garrison. Now, of course, you can subjugate them, and if you manage to (not that hard) you can get the option of enslaving them(occupying the village), destroying their village and taking the Spoils of war, or (not in the game) Making them a vassal state/village and they can supply troops pay taxes etc, though obviously you cant build on it, if they stop liking you (you break a part of the treaty such as tresspassing etc) they can obviously rebel, now (omgalotofwordsforme), this would double (maybe) the indepthness of the gameplay and would make landgrabbing more proffitable.

What do you think? go find a vid on youtube if you don't get what i be sayin', or download the demo (or the full game), (games epic, downloading the full thing via torrent atm, i can provide the link if you ask for it for those googlenubes out there :victory:)

Did i miss anything of importance? o.O
