I have never lost forum privilages. Why you ask? This is the only forum I've ever modded for.
-
Well, local wars could be fought to ensure that no one upstarts your trade. Perhpas another legit reason is to attack menances of the realm, or hire your troops out to the highest bidder in their wars. Or in Suladan's case, it could be to unify an entire region under one ruler.
Don't forget, IIRC Venice used to be a great trading power, and yet they were engaged in wars too.
-
@Mith: I consider myself at a local place of meeting in the South as well. But obiously I'll fight wars as well.

*New map recieves Black Op's of approval*

Nice map Yiuel. I just wanna know if you ment for my lands to be on that map, or will be located "off screen" of this main one? Cause I plan for quite a few sub-cultures for these Southern areas, and by knowing the bounds of my lands I'll know how many I can reasonably put.

@Bakayaro and Lorian: If you see anything that you think goes aganist the CGs, use that report post button (tis the "!" at the bottom left of every post) instead of mearly posting your complaint, your chances of having a Guardian show up and do something are higher. And that goes for everyone.
Since this thread was revived due to something off-topic (saying you have come back should have gone in the Announcements Forum) and plus with the spam, this thread WILL get locked if the spam dosen't stop.
Carry on.

Since this can be seen as "Soliciting traffic from Wildfire Games" as defined in Section 3.2 of the CG's, I'll take the liberty of closing this thread.

Tis a good thing hail never gets big in Southern California.

Siting on my chair using a computer.

@Rowan: Leave the tying up to Mithrandil and Mironir. IIRC, they're working on a story based on the other RPTs, and I presume it'll bring the 2nd to a reasonable conclusion.
@Ugo: What Melvillian Culture Test? And BTW, will Estelvan be brining with him some sort of army, or will those that come along just be a small batch of explorers?
-
@Rowan: Glad to have a fan of my peoples.
@Ugo: Your attempt at making me ashamed failed.
-
Sorry Rowan, but Estelvan and Tiriel will not be a couple. Ugo for some strange reason thinks emotional attachments is a weekness. I won't expect much of him in the ways of romance hehe.
Speaking of him, I'm still waiting on him so that I can contuinue describing Harad.

@David: So I'm right either way, I specifically mentioned FA Edain.
Anyways AJ, while the TLA Team most likely will not accept outsider concept art for their own use, they will encourage people to make fan art based on Tolkien's works. Make sure you post it over at the Green Dragon forum though.

1. Welcome to TLA AJ!
2. Nope, no public Concept Art of the 1st Age Edain exists as of this post.
-
Cool, this possibly means more TLA avatars in the future.

Well, after nearly a week gone, I'm back to doing stuff for the RPT. Let's see, got some stuff for Mith's civ.......
1. Assuming the map approx. resembles classic Middle-earth, where approx. will your people be located. I would prefer it if that city-state was located any place north of the old location of the River Poros, so my people realisticly can avoid contact with the North.
2. As already pointed out, your civ breaks from the theme of the races being seperated from each other. To better fit this new RPT, perhaps in their stead you can have High Men decended from Elves (however, I find it plausible that Tursérë can be a pure Elf, "given" to your civ). Besides, I wouldn't think Elves would accept attacking other neighbors unless they were obviously evil, but High Men can.
Should you choose to keep Elves however, bear these things in mind. Logically, the small amount of remaining Noldor (living only in Rivendell and the Grey Havens primarily) would have left for Valinor long ago. Also, the Silvan element won't hang around in a city (unless you convientely placed a big forest right outside your city limits ). That leaves only misc. Avari to use to base your Elf population on, meaning they'll be less advanced then you're used to.
As for the Dwarves, I would think they'll be too proud to let themselves have to work for someone of another race mearly just for money (more likely, it'll be the other way around as Dwarves mine the substances used to make money ). Rather, I'd think they are outcasts from the other Houses who could care less for past feuds (and thus, forget them).
3. Finally, I hope you do have a name for your government. Because I find "government" to be too...... modern for my liking.
Well, tis all for now.

David has already spoken for the important details of my life when you were away.
-
Meh, you think you got problems? Timbo to this day still capitalizes the "P" in Black Op, making it Black OP.
-
This really belongs in the Suggestions and Feedback Forum so I moved it. BTW: digging through there will also reveal topics discussing this.
Anyways, I would like to see Rep back of course. Currency we can do without though IMO........
P.S. Nice of ya to come back.
-
Personally, I'm againist having all units having random stats. Not only this is a pain which IMO belongs to the RPG world, but goes aganist Tolkien's style of not going into detail concerning the "lower fighting class" of Middle-earth unless they interact with a bigshot.
Units having random names, while not having any impact on gameplay would be a nice gimmick feature.

Bah, wasen't I supposed to be the evil Dark Lord of WFG?
-
LOL Adam, now those are the most laughable things I've heard yet from the LOTR "franchise". Times like these, one would wish the Tolkien Estate had control over such products. At least be glad TLA is here in secret....
-
I got more of them planned Mithrandil so you just hold tight. I don't really think the Haradrim were a homogenous people but many. So there's still plenty more work to do......

Well, it didn't rain once today. We had clear skies.

@Mith: Hehe. Note however that each civ I write about represents a civ I have to conquer in some fashion. That means it'll take considerable time to include them into my empire and to organize them into a combined fighting force. In theory, it gives you time to subdue your own rivals and make an empire out of it to oppose any other players. Rest assured though, you have legitimate reason to fear me.
