  1. Well I've been through this a few times, forgiving them too much.

In real life (so not here :P) I'm quite nice to everyone, I forgive very quickly even if they did something really bad. I usually seem a bit angry from time to time but it passes quickly and after that all is forgotten and forgiven. But, if they keep attacking me continuously I can suddenly become really furious and then it's enough for me, no more excuses, no time that will heal what happened. Yeah, ask some people who were friends with my gf, they got to know the bad Klaas and I'm sure they didn't like that at all :D

  2. I know the drill, been through it myself :P

Don't worry too much about those bad marks, you can always have good ones again. But, really important is that you don't neglect studying, and that you keep up with the material you need to study.

Now, I already suggested this before. There's only one thing you can do: give up some of your hobbies. You're putting a lot of effort into these forums and such, which is great. But, remember that real life is more important than this. I also used to think DGDN was important, but in reality it meant nothing. And sorry to say this, but in reality this also means little to me, real life is simply more important. You can have a good resume if you finish this, but you're nothing with it if you don't finish school for example. And beware, continueing this way will only give yourself the mentality of neglecting school more and more, and before you know it you'll start having enough of school. I've hated school for 3 years due to this, because I failed a year and had to redo it. I'm sure you don't want this, so please put less effort into this or something else and try to regard it as less important.

Another thing I wish to add, although it's more personal, is that schedules aren't always good. You better just study what you have to study and do your homework and if that's finished you can do what you like.

Anyway, I hope things will get better soon for you :D

  3. Rofl Stuart, you're the one who got it right :(

Btw, please don't turn this into a religious debate again, lets stay on topic (I don't mean saying you don't believe in it because you're a Christian, but rather starting a whole debate again) :(

Anyway, another approach I've been thinking about is forgetting ourselves on life on earth (well there are some interesting organisms). If we think about life we usually think the same life form as you find here, with cells, DNA, RNA and all kinds of acids. But wouldn't it be possible life on another planet is completely different, that an organism isn't a whole bunch of cells or that cells don't contain DNA, ribosomes, a vacuole (with plants), etc.?

Deep under sea level we have some very strange life forms on earth, living in extreme conditions (the pression there is enormous). They are still organisms with cells and such, but their organs are very strange.

Well, it's just a stupid very unscientific theory, one that can only be imagined ;)

  4. Do you believe that UFO's are spaceships of aliens? Or do you think there is a possibility of intelligent life on another planet? Or what about very primitive forms of life?

I'm not that familiar with this topic, I can only base my opinion on a few fragments I catched during class or from documentaries. Some things really astonished me though, although I'm not sure if they are right or real.

I saw somewhere that during a research on Mars they found proof of life. Not intelligent, just very primitive, like the first forms we had here. The said that it was only a few remains of bacterial activity or something, which must be very old.

Another thing I saw is that they've been sending radio transmissions for a decade or more in space and trying to receive others. I think it was somewhere in the early 90s they received something really strange which must have come from an intelligent being able to transmit radio golves.

    Anyway, that's all I know ;)

  5. But how do you explain for example the Muslim's statement that the Koran is completely right and the Bible is not? What interests me is why one religion thinks it's right and the others are not, on which arguments this reasoning is based.

I agree about inconsistencies in the Bible, many are due to the translations and copying. You can find errors like this in many classical writing too.

  6. Yep I agree about scn punk, all the members are very mature, except for a few forum posters. But the new community at scn punk is interesting though, I'm sure if punk gets some new members it will gain its old glory back.

Well DGDN has many young forumers and members so that explains all the smilies. But it's a very friendly community, just like here, which is the most important thing imo.

  7. Has anyone read Anabasis by Xenophon? I'm reading a Dutch translation now. Interesting to read, but quite corrupted by Xenophon's personal opinion and way to make things seem better and bigger then they really are (a Persian army of around 1.000.000 soldiers in one battle???). Maybe it's the translation, but he doesn't seem to be such a good writer either, not introducing things or working out his characters too well.
