  1. Like the aura system in WCIII...

The statues could have different effects.

One to Saturn could improve resource output for a radius.

One to Mars could improve morale of the military.

One to Typhon (or some other scary immortal being) could demoralize the enemy.

    That is... for the romans.

It ought to be allowed to capture and redo statues, like convert one of Saturn to another Fertility Deity.

  2. Maybe you should make a tutorial that involves Longinus the Roman Soldier Stabbing Jesus, teaching the new player how to choose units, move, and attack.

And for abilities, there WILL be morale boosting, right? Like the presence of a Roman General ought to raise defense and attack for nearby Roman Soldiers.

    Terrain bonuses, etc, as usual.

In addition, what if the stats of units varied from unit to unit? In a war, not each soldier is alike.

And what about salvaging resources from corpses?

  3. This might be off-topic, but I see no Jesus articles. Surely he was a great influence during that time w/ his disciples and whatnot.

On a side note, maybe I should find a better place to make this post.

  4. "Argalian" sounds better than "Bakayarian."

Sounds like some kind of civilization. Maybe if you made an "Argalian Civilization" for an expansion of the game, but that's off topic.

And as for it being not done before in an RTS, I thought the point of 0ad was the rock the socks off of other RTS Titles.

  5. 2. The "Mormon" theory : A strain of the Isreali people crossed the Atlantic ocean and settled in Mezo-America. This theory holds some supporters among some few Atlantophiles, but only in a similar way : rather than Israeli, they speak of Egyptians, or at least, a Semitic-Chamitic group (so, indeed close). The main support is the possible cultural link, which in some aspect is really close (though still different).

This one is definitely the least likely. The ships built by the people who lived around the mediterranean sea were only good for short distances, nowhere near the size and power of a spanish galleon of the 1500s. And for cultural links, do you mean the burial of the dead in elevated areas, such as the mound builders of Cahokia, IL?

I must say the most applicable theory would have to be a mix of 1&3, because both are indeed viable. Going from Easter Island to South America is a shorter distance than going form Israel to North America.

  6. There's enough lauding of praise already, and I don't think that offers any information.

*DISCLAIMER* These views are extremely picky. No normal person ought to pick out details like this.

I'll give some of my views:

    1. I don't think charging horsemen would usually sit upright. If one were going at great speeds the wind would be rather irritating, and one would be likely to crouch somewhat. And maybe the shield would be put in a more protective position.

    2. On the scouting the enemy pic, the Iberian scouts are standing behind the rock. Standing. This is not exactly realistic. In addition, rocks that are on the slopes on the right seem to be resting rather unnaturally.

3.In addition to the well water being too blue, it is rather motionless. Perhaps if there were ripples... but this is a freeze-frame screenshot so I have little clue of what I'm talking about.

    4. In Stand-Off, the soldiers seem unnaturally calm in their confrontation. They ought to have their shields in defensive positioins.

    That's all.
