Narrative Campaign General Discussion?
Gönndolsalv replied to Lion.Kanzen's topic in Gameplay Discussion
Wow, thank you for the detailed reply! I see you've been busy. Actually, it was the PR for the speech/dialogue system that reminded me of this thread. I agree that the game needs a new tutorial, followed by a campaign — that's probably the first thing a new user will do/expect. Also, there are none user-created campaign mods out there. While your changes will make things easier and look better, it would also be great to be able to create campaigns in Atlas. Could it be possible for the user to choose where the task list is displayed, e.g. left, right, top, middle or bottom? It would be great to have categories for the tips mentioned in the other thread for R29, too. Spare the index and search for later. -
Must have XXIII(23) Ken Wood Linux only
Gönndolsalv replied to NewWorldHero's topic in Help & Feedback
@zyliThanks for going all the way and test it. Your approach will work. Isn't the underlying problem that the scenarios in their current state are not compatible with any newer version of 0ad? This is why i suggested to port the scenarios, itś seems like the more sustainable solution plus you get new features and fixes. @NewWorldHero have you already tried to port them and how many are there? What do you meant by somewhat modified? that is what i wanted to suggest, to use the migration scrips to port them. The fact that your scenarios kept you on A23 (which was a great version) for so long got me curious. Could you maybe share them here? -
you can only select the number of players with random maps

I once had the same problem on my old Win10 laptop when GPU skinning was enabled. -
sure, just download the newest release candidate for your system here: https://releases.wildfiregames.com/rc/ If you find a problem this is how you report it: https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/wiki/ReportingErrors

I totally agree with that. But when a fight drags on for long enough, you sometimes find yourself in a position where you should have used Traders.

Another minor issue with the AppImage is that when you try to connect to a local game and it doesn't work, the game doesn't exit the Connecting to a game window. You can always click 'Cancel' and try again. Should I create an issue for that on Gitea? Is that description enough?

I have tested the AppImage When i tried to launch atlas i got this Message in the logs I found this DllLoader: dlopen(libAtlasUI.so) failed: libAtlasUI.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory; dlopen(libAtlasUI_dbg.so) failed: libAtlasUI_dbg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory;

It seems like you have installed an old version of PureOS. Perhaps you should upgrade or use backports. https://software.pureos.net/package/src/pureos/dawn/flatpak
-
as far i know the latest flatpak version is 1.16.1 https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/releases so the PureOS's FlatPak is outdated
-
I would agree. I know about the upcoming release because I visit Gitea from time to time, but you can't expect that from everyone. I'm not sure if there's a better way to communicate this than by announcing it on the forum and perhaps on social media. The only other thing I can think of is informing players in the bottom right-hand corner when launching the game that they could help test a new release version.

maybe itś the gpu skinning? some had problems with that

I had this problem on Windows when I was using the Vulkan graphics. Try switching to OpenGL.

How can I add a new civ to 0 A.D. via modding?
Gönndolsalv replied to Lunari8546's topic in Game Modification
I'm also confused what are you trying to do? -
hi ismaeltato it is possible when you import a hightmap for a new map the number of pixel will be the map size but be aware that a game on a very big map will have more lag

How and where can I share my maps with community?
Gönndolsalv replied to HUDSAN's topic in Tutorials & Guides
the best would be to make a mod for your map and upload it to mod IO or just upload it to the forum there is a wiki article with more informatio https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/wiki/Modding_Guide you could also look at the community maps mod how itś done or write the maintainer to include your map -

Why is the 0 A.D community so small?

stan mentioned a few times data form the automatic feedback. Is that data somewhere available? I found this https://feedback.wildfiregames.com/ but there is only old data and nothing about daily users.
