Made that for a spray in Counter-Strike: Source, and using it as my avatar in the forums!

OK... I know this is an RTS community, and I'm for sure an RTS fan-boy.
Well, I was literally pressured into purchasing CS:S this weekend by my other dorm friends. Wish I could get my $20 back, but Valve won't have anything to do with it.
Any how...
Anyone here play Counter-Strike Source?

If we do become Coruscant in the next few centuries, than we need to start developing massive cloning facilities for humans, and begin constructing orbital shipyards and mass produce impressive wedge shaped capital ships.

Yes - just one more item to add to the to do list for WFG staff!

Anyhow... to get back on topic...
(sorry to drift it off)
Anyone notice how the developer's blog on Project Offset hasn't been updated since November 2007?

About the squad(s) idea, I believe I remember someone told me a while back form WFG that they were gonna have a "Grouping" feature. Say, you select a certain amount of troops of a particular troop type, and than you hit ctrl + 1. Kinda like in Warcraft. That should be a very doable hotkey for WFG programmers. It also makes it a heck of alot easier when you can just press 1... 2... 3... on your key board, and than right click on the mini-map to move them in the general area.
If you're going to have ships double as transports... enemy triremes should not be able to take out your vessel with one hit. That would suck in some cases to lose your army in the middle of the ocean (but I guess that's the point). Maybe if you ram an enemy trireme, give it a "sinking time" or something... like watch the health bar go slowly down due to the trireme itself being hit and filling with water. This should enable the player to bring up reinforcement triremes and transfer his units onto fresh transports.
... I remember playing a few games in AOK where I was the Koreans and had a poor land army. But the enemy was on a different continent, and he was forced to keep resupplying his forces against my defense. I eventually figured it out that if I send turtle ships to blockade him; he couldn't do squat.

Forgot about this... but if you guys also want huge and long lasting battles; maybe WFG can look into gameplay that is similar to Cossacks. In Cossacks gameplay was quick. The population limit was also huge. That enabled the player to create (literally) thousands of units. Military production was just as quick as gameplay, but the research was just a tad bit slow. Maybe 0 A.D. can adopt something similar?
What is the population cap for 0 A.D. atm... 200 - 250 right?
Thanks,
- HG

Great job as usual WFG!

Europe is a peninsula of peninsulas, with rivers, lakes, and mountains!
Any chance of possibly portraying them Argalius, or are you just doing blank outline maps for now?
-
Welcome to the Forums!

Argalius,
I joined a Web Cartography class this semester at my uni. Right now the class is going over HTML and basic CSS (I'm helping the professor teach them it), and in return they're teaching me how to use some Cartography software. Once I begin to use the software and saving some maps, and constructing my final website project, I'll make a post in the Computer Desk and show it to ya.
Excellent starting point though.

Send him to the arena!
Haven't they already mentioned they can't really give a percentage m8?

Ok, well... when I originally bought the specs, I knew what they were like then... but when I run a dxdiag on Vista... this is what shows up:
+ Intel Core 2 @ 2.13 GHz (2 CPUs)
+ Memory: 2046MB RAM
+ NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX @ 1499 MB
+ 19 or 20 in monitor (i forget... think its 19)
When I originally ordered it, the Intel Core 2 @ 2.13 was correct, and memory I had something like 2 GB of RAM (maybe the MB isn't that far off?) but the Graphics is what kills me! I ordered 700 MB graphics card, and woot!
But yeah... anyhow....

PPE,
That might anger some people...
Looking for the beta? Click here!"We're sorry but the beta / engine is still a work in progress."
What I mean by that is, people would be expecting that they would be able to sign up for it, and or download it.
I think a simple "DEVELOPMENT STILL IN PROGRESS", or something along those lines on the front page would cover the issue. And if it still occurs, which it probably would, people need to get glasses than.

Well, I got a new PC last fall (07). So... if you really want to know what I have...
I do hate.... bragging

WFG Staff must be just thrilled to answer those several questions (BETA?! Release date?!) every few or so days / weeks, when a new forumer registers.
Not to be rude, but if you have been checking in with WFG for a while, you should know that a release date for this game, or an open beta is strictly tentative with these guys (not that its a bad thing).
-
Not that bad of a project. I believe I've seen it before though, not exactly sure. I remember the Orc / Ogre looking video from somewhere, maybe...
Maybe we can compare specs to see who would be able to run it... Lolz

feneur,
Thanks for the image help! Wasn't actually sure why it wasn't showing at first.
How are you finding drawing with a Intuos? I have a Graphire myself.
