  1. I've made a few maps on the Map Editor, (otherwise known as Atlas) and I want to play them. Is there a way I can do this?
  2. I defeated the Macedonians in a single player match as the Spartans. The reason for the win is because I allied myself with both the Persians and the Athenians. The game ended and they're still fighting. I want to end it by destroying one of them, but the game is already finished. Is there a way to fight someone, even though the game is already over?
  3. Sometimes when I select a large number of Units, and I make others, the others that I made are unable to be selected. This is very problematic when I want to send large forces to attack other Civs. Could you look into it? Thank you.
  4. That's nice Stan. But I still don't know how to make mods. As I have said in a previous comment, maybe I should learn how to do art...
  5. Are these mods still active and running? And I don't know how to download 0 A.D. mods manually. Can you help?
  6. Oh it does? Maybe I should learn how to do art for the game...
  7. Although I enjoy the period that 0 A.D. already is in, I have in mind some other eras. What I thought of most was to bring the Gentleman's Warfare from the 17 to 1800s into 0 A.D. and also the Late Middle Ages. Actually, maybe this should be a mod, or to give you a very radical idea, a new game. Yes, I know what you are thinking. The grandeur and austerity of this topic makes implementation to me seem impossible. But I liked the idea and would like to hear some ideas about this. What do you think?
  8. Right I agree. Thank you again. I discovered that using Champion Cavalry is very effective as well, and I have been using all these ideas you have given me.
  9. When I send Citizen-Soldiers to work before I send them out to battle, It is annoying to see their weapons visible when not in combat. What I was thinking was a button on the game screen that you click when selecting a unit that makes their weapons not visible. When this button is clicked, the Citizen-Soldier will up their production, and use daggers dealing the same amount of damage as women. When you want to send them to the battlefield, you just click it again, and in theory, they will make an animation to show them unsheathing or picking up a weapon. Just suggestions. Maybe the Spearman could store it in a building and grab it there (which is historically accurate), or place it in a box of weapons you can build for cheap, and place them across your City. But I was thinking, just for the convenience of the developers, that when you click the button, it just disappears and reappears when you click it again. Any ideas?
  10. Oh yes I used them once. I was playing as the Ptolemies when I read in the forums you just type, "how do you turn this on?" in chat. But I don't use them often because they have no proper direction or aim at all. But if you do manage to get one bullet in the game into a unit, say a Hero, then that would be considered using the WW2 Fighter to the best of its abilities.
  11. I agree with you that the Iberian Champion Cavalry attack damage should be lowered a bit. I remembered once in a game I trained 30 of these, and I was attacked by literally hordes of Infantry with sustaining no casualties whatsoever, suffering very little damage to the Cavalry. I'm talking near 100 troops trying to break through each horde, and there was 2 of them. I used them as guards, and to good effect. If you do want to nerf their Cavalry, It is needed, but you can still do that without taking the fire bonus away. But fire shouldn't give the Javelins a 20 point bonus. Maybe a 5 point bonus would suffice. Any suggestions?
  12. Yes I would add Burgers too. But I'm not the biggest fan of Pizza, especially leftover Pizza. Kebabs are amazing, I love the ones with lamb the most.
  13. Mine are the Britons because of the cheap buildings and the decent but quick to grow Infantry. Good bonuses, good agriculture, and 2 other game-changing features: The Strongest Hero and the Champion Swordsmen (the Hero being Boudica). What is yours? I like the Persians and Kushites too. Spartans I would say are a good turtling faction.
  14. This is about the ratio between Horsemen and Infantry. From the Bronze Age to the Iron Age, the ratio was on average 50:1 which, interestingly, was the ratio to the Egyptian Army during the Ptolemaic Dynasty. At it's height (their Army was small in number, but expensive and Professional enough to be considered a world-class army) the Army consisted of 200,000 Foot Soldiers and 4000 Horsemen, (not including Chariots) and also a huge number of Warships, 1500. This would be able to transport both Infantry and Horsemen and then some. Any more facts about the Ptolemies?
  15. I like Sandwiches and Perogies. Sadly, I'm on a diet.
  16. Personally, I believe the Celtic Chariot is the best in terms of raw power, but aren't good in the frontlines. They should be used as heavy support for, say, Brythonic Champions. Other than that, the Spartiate Champion. Best infantry. Everyone who views this post, please give me a unit or two. Even a list if you like.
  17. But I agree with @Gurken Khan. The function shouldn't be autonomous, like moral. I was thinking raw function.
  18. Yes, @alre. I also believe that the reason why I can't retreat the majority of my troops is because they walk, (or is that a jog?) not run, as I would like them to, away from the enemy.
  19. No, I was thinking of a feature, like if I press E, all units run to the area chosen for them. I have tried retreating my units, but none of them survive. Once I did retrieve 3 Javelineers from a 60 man Army though. Usually my forces are 100-150 in size, yet I never seem to retrieve any.
  20. In honesty, I admit to liking Archer Cavalry. But in essence, they work similar to Pikemen; they only preform well in large groups, and, unlike some units, can't function in small groups. If you do use Archer Cavalry in small groups, before you do any real damage, most of your numbers die. Archers in general work in ways similar to this.
  21. Wow I never knew this! Thank you very much.
  22. Introduction: This is a proposal, based on both the changes and additions I believe should be implemented, and features which I think are needed. First will be on maybe a Retreat Function, Second will be a Surrender Function, (or enslaving function) Then increased health per unit and more Citizen-Soldier Variety. 1: Retreat Function I discovered from research that very (and I mean very) few armies required fighting until death, and relatively few men died in any sort of combat. At most would be 10 percent in regular combat, on average (this statistic is for the Roman Army only, but may be applied for most Iron Age armies) 2.6 percent. This is mainly because of a retreat, where the remainders of the forces would have been treated, then redeployed after reinforcements were given to this force. I want to have at least a few survivors left from combat, but it seems none of them do. No matter how many men I send into battle, (more men generally mean less losses in battle) I seem to lose them all. This is very unrealistic, and I would really like to have a retreat function ingame. Maybe when the E button is pressed, units will run to the nearest friendly Civic Center and garrison, or maybe a Temple. There doesn't even have to be a garrison, maybe you can decide a meeting point somewhere by pressing E when not in Combat and then clicking on a point within the map. 2: Surrender Function This is less of a priority and more of a trivial feature for me, but it would be great to have it. In Ancient Warfare, most Battles ended either in Surrender or Retreat, with very little losses in battle. For what I had in mind for the game, when units are in battle, (only units in battle, it would be weird if you pressed S and all your units Surrender to the nearest enemy) pressing S will cause them to change color to the attacking unit's color. They will no longer carry weapons, (Dropping them? Enemies stripping them of their Weapons? Disappearing Weapons?) and will be controlled by the enemy Civ. They will pretty much be slaves and gather resources, or build. 3: More Health Per Unit As keeping with the subject, lower casualties in battle, I think all units should have a little more health. Not something drastic, like hundreds of points, but maybe 10-25% more health for all units. Maybe that does sound a bit drastic, but it wasn't supposed to be an absolute. 4: Citizen-Soldier Variety I believe this is needed, for most Ancient armies consisted of not usually one kind of unit, but since most had a Militia, many kinds of Soldiers. In the Bronze and Iron Age, weapons most commonly used were Spears, Axes, Halberds, Daggers, Dirks, Bows and Arrows, Swords, Wooden Clubs, and Mallets. I’m not asking to have all of these weapons, but some more variety seems good. Conclusion: Thank you for reading. These are just some things I wanted you to add, and just some suggestions. What I would like the most out of these is the Retreat Function, where it would be easier to cut losses, and make battle more realistic. Any thoughts on this?
  23. Oh yes, I like this idea very much. I hate that some areas of the map are inaccessible by troops because of water, and a close-combat, concentrated bridge battle sounds interesting. But it does seem a bit hard for the community to program bridges to be able to be constructed.
  24. Maybe he was thinking of a Camera Mode. I would prefer a farther zoom-in, like that of the Atlas.
