  1. There are some people who try to limit cursing and other things like the FCC (I hate them). It's funny how they sued a channel for airing Saving Private Ryan, not because of all the violence and people dieing in horible ways, but because there were a few curses. They go on about Christian morals and such, so they sued them for half a million dollars, but greed is one of the worse sins :D hmmmm

  2. My computer has around 65-70 processes going at the same time, which is probably the reason why my computer is really slow, but when I end processes that I know shouldn't be running and cause my computer to crash, they just keep coming back on. How do I get rid of these things, and how many processes should I have going on my computer?

  3. Game desingers have to go over every single aspect of the game down to the smallest detail and document it so that the game can be made. It's an important job that figures out how the game will play and what the game will be like. One of the game designers could be more specific on this.

  4. I think that having the soldeirs wives could be annoying because they would get in the way of things, or look out of place if they followed just one unit around like a soldeir manning a wall, they might also cause lag from having to many units. But it could work if the wives would only follow people in companies, and instead of coming from the AI or another player they could just appear from house or tents like Drashkurz said.

  5. Ohh I see

I've decided to list all the things I want featured in the engine and I was wondering if i need to be more specific or change somethings, Its pretty long though.

-Game engine will be in complete 3D, it will also be compatible with the latest technology for computers and capable of handling very detailed graphics

-The engine will be able to “track” bullets like an FPS, this will allow for units to have a chance to hit or miss their targets. Bullets can be stopped by objects in their path, Ex: trees, buildings, sandbags, etc…

-Units accuracy system (I did this in paint and it doesnt show up in here)

The further away from the target the less likely it will hit

-As units gain experience this “circle” shrinks. To gain experience the unit most be in combat. The higher the experience the quicker the soldier reacts to enemy fire, and will have better morale. Unit experience will be shown in the unit interface when it is selected

The experience is shown from 0 the lowest – 100 the highest. More in-depth of how this works in the game features section.

    - Smarter AI for individual units. This allows for less micro-management since they can do basic things on their own.

-Taking cover when fired upon by another unit, will use the surrounding environment such as trees, rubble, sandbags, craters. If the unit is to far from cover or in an open area the unit will drop to the ground (only infantry)

-Returning fire, Infantry will return fire on the attacking unit unless that unit is a something that they cannot harm with the weapons they have with them. Ex: Basic Rifle squad is attacked by a tank, they will just take cover unless they have an anti tank weapon with them such as a Bazooka.

-Units will automatically return fire but some will shoot back while the enemy are reloading or to lay down covering fire for people in their squad

-Infantry will take damage depending where they are hit.

-Head = infantry unit will automatically die

-Upper chest/back = Fatally wounded and in need of a medic

-Legs/ Lower body = wounded, moves more slowly

-Arms = wounded, shoots slower than normal

-Vehicles/Tanks take different amounts of damage depending on these things

-How much armor they have on that part of the vehicle

-What type of weapon is fired at them

-The distance between the attacker and target

    -The angle the shell hits

-The angle of the armor on the vehicle

How armor weapons can pierce and how much armor a tank has will be listed in the unit section

-Possible damage to tanks and vehicles with weapons capable of damaging the tank

-Shot to the turret ring, the turret cannot move

-Shot to the treads/tires, vehicle is immobilized

-Shot by the drivers hatch, driver may be wounded/ killed, depending on armor

-Shot to the main gun, can cause gun not to fire/fire more slowly

-Shot to he turret, can wound members inside the turret

-Shot to the engine can disable the vehicle

-Each soldier in a squad acts as a different unit in that they have their own health, and morale, which may differ a little from soldier to soldier.

-Deformable terrain. The Terrain can be changed by weapons infantry and also weather.

Guns that can change the landscape

    All types of mortars

    All main guns of tanks

    All field guns/artillery

    Flamethrowers

Anything that fires and explosive round

Infantry can also deform the terrain by making

    Foxholes

    Trenches

Tank crews and field guns/artillery can dig their guns in

-Weather system – can affect many things such as morale accuracy and how vehicles perform. Weather can happen at random times through a map.

Snow- lowers morale; units move more slowly, tanks may freeze up/ become

    immobilized

Night- lowers accuracy and range and visibility of all units

Rain- causes mud in dirt parts of the map such as a dirt road, all units move

slower and tanks/vehicles may become bogged down. Lowers visibility/range

    -Population limit around 150-200

-Tanks field guns/artillery come with a crew of soldiers to man the gun.

The gun can be destroyed but not the infantry

The infantry an be killed but not the gun

-Realistic gun ranges. Units don’t stand and shoot at each other from what seems like 20 feet in most RTS, most units will fire at each other from a couple of screen lengths away

-Units have a cone shaped line of sight, like their accuracy. They can only see what’s in front of them, this can lead to units being vulnerable to flank and rear attacks.

  6. I dont think i'll be able to help program to much, it would probably take me too long and I would most likely have to rely on excellent programmers to do this :umm:. I'd rather focus on designing the game though.

By the way I need two-three game designers, someone who really wants to do this, willing to help out, someone who is creative and can think of great ideas to make this a different game than all other WW2 strategy games.
