Yes I have a dairy farm on Hardangerfjord, and it was started by my grandparents who were very poor growing up,and embraced their land to make a business. Where I live there are many orchards, mountains, and plenty of land where animals can roam. I went from high heel shoes/boots to rubber boots heh Our main produce is cheese which does sell great because tourists to natives love desserts/cakes/pies heh Norwegians love making cheese cakes/ with lingonberries or many different berries. I used to work for my parents who own a cider shops but my husband who was raised on a dairy farm in Victoria, australia {yes married an aussie bloke} decided he could run the farm with me,and do a great job due to he has a lot of experience with cows. I had more experience making cider but now I am enjoying the farm more due to I can be outside with nature over standing in a cider barn. People think I am crazy when I say I am a farmer because they think I should be shopping at the mall or enjoying fashion , but I get my hands muddy, and it feels great. Feels like an accomplishment heh If I am not farming I am attending metal shows at my favorite festivals, reading history books, dealing with my many meters Rapunzel hair, or enjoying historical mmos/rts games. Life is very busy for me,and great !

I own a farm, and it's a cheese farm here on Hardanger. This is where I work, and play OAD on my leisure time lol I love farms because they let you work for yourself, and always cheese to go around for my people. My mum and dad own an orchard, and sell cider for a living. My whole family are farmers, and that is because where I live on the fjords there is plenty of land, and resources. Speaking of fjords

Guys one word. "Slaves" without having to mod to get slaves Have your soldiers go out and fight, while the slaves and women do the gathering, planting. Slaves cannot fight in wars unless trained at the barracks, and they can remain slaves as long as you don't train them, so there is your economy booming while the soldiers fight problem solved.
-
I did notice they were trained fast If it is a bug than yes fix it

It makes sense that the norse get an advantage with sheep because where I live in Norway I have sheep not too far from my house. I can walk down the road and see sheep everywhere grazing by the fjord. I think it's great they have that skill over other cultures on OAD because lamb is big here, and we eat a lot of it {very healthy}. I don't think it should be nerfed or force us to pay with resources because it will ruin the uniqueness of the culture. Other cultures get what we would like to have so every culture should be different, and have it's weakness and strengths. Making us pay with resources would ruin the idea of it. I know many sheep do cause lag but there can be a different solution than ruin the fun.

You are right it wasn't the eastern it's the DE, so how do you train the slaves or were they removed ?
-
I think it would be a great idea to bring serfs back to the game due to the fact serfs existed during this era,and they would serve a great purpose for the economy and military. I was playing the Eastern mod today, and noticed there are serfs in the storehouses to train, but they don't work anymore, and I was wondering why they were removed ? I think wars would be more exciting if you have a choice of capturing enemies or executing them on the spot. Also instead of your enemy retreating, and trying to runaway you can have your cavalry chase them and right click a "capture" icon of your flag, and than send them to the farmstead or the barracks. You can also build a coliseum to train gladiatours for entertainment, and making money. ROME was all about the arenas, and fighting even off the battlefield. You can even capture animals and train them for the gladiatours to fight. Being able to train serfs/servants would save resources because it would be free labour. Also serfs will be hard to aquire due to the fact you have to win a battle or get lucky capturing stragglers. I did mention the serfs before, and now I have a lot of great ideas if you decide to bring the serfs back. Endless, and fun ideas

The solution to the battle rams being overpowered is to make a massive group of swordsmen, and they will take out the ram fast. every class has it's superior, and weakness. If your culture doesn't start with a swordsman I am sure you can train one through a mercenary camp. If you are playing a norse the axemen rule the rams. I am happy to hear your only complaints are small things that can be fixed, and I am happy that you love this game. I want this game to be loved by everyone because it is a great game

I thought this over for a bit,and especially with my hubby, thanks but no thanks. I rather just play the game, and besides my husband wouldn't want my voice on a game heh Norwegian men are complex/jealous. We are a nonchalant/private/polite/and shy culture. If you ever visited Norway/Bergen you would see what I am talking about. But ty for the offer. I do appreciate the offer though

The best way to win with the norse is use the hunters to first scout the map due to them having fastest speed, and to prevent having to solo dangerous animals bring about 4 or more, and just run over the map. Get your food high, and build a market as soon as you can so you can use food for your currency to buy metal/wood to train units to be ready for your first attack by your enemy. After if you win the attack start training more units to harvest steel/wood/stone. As long as your units are not teir3 you can spam harvesting with these new units. Next build a temple so you have your healers for your frontline, and also get their skills maxed for that teir. Nothing better than having 5 or more healers keeping your frontline alive, and you can fight with ease. What I do is have two groups of hunters split, one for behind the front line units {spearmen, axemen} and have another group of archers flanking on the side so I can have the first group assisting my front line units, and the second picking off the archers/skirimishers that are trouble to my frontline. Remember you can save a lot of resources because you can train champions from your civic, and most your units so embrace that. I use the terrain to my advantage, and also use the towers to remove the fog of war. So much better seeing your enemy ahead so you can plan. Remember to stack up on hunters, that will be your power.

I wish I could speak ancient norse heh Does Bergensk count ?

I never have a problem with the Kushites because I spread my army out,and use tactic. For example I hide behind buildings or behind trees with my skirimishers/slingers/archers,and while my swordsman are on the front lines I than flank my enemy with my range units to weaken my enemy.. When my enemies get weakened I than use my cavalry to finish the fight. If you use different types of military together you can kill any faction. Also take it slow, and look at the whole army, and what you are fighting, and plan it out. I even pause the game to plan the attack out. I don't see the Kushites needing any siege weapons except elephants because they never were advanced enough to build such weapons. How to be faster than the AI is to plan ahead, and what I mean by is at the beginning of the match train 3 cavalry and go scout the whole map,and know what your enemy is building, and rush them to prevent them from advancing. The enemy always attacks us the minute they get their first army so we should be the first attackers. Perhaps storm their camp, and kill the farmers/units to weaken them from the start, and if you can try to keep your units on enemy grounds to harass them, and prevent them from advancing. Make sure they don't build their first barracks. The more buildings lacking the more units/resources they lack to advance, and the more advantage you have over them. Keep their land occupied with your units if you can,and stay away from the civic center, and any building that shoots back. The spartans have a lot that will ruin a champion cavalry's life. The spartans don't need the best cavalry when they have the best hoplites and when put in the phalanx stance they are the most feared. A hoplite is a cavalry's nightmare heh Especially a champion one. About the archers, any unit with a lot of armour can plow down archers easily, and also get your cavalry speed/attack to maxed and you will rush them fast. Be the first on the offensive, and you shall achieve victoury. Good luck

How about on Northgard when you run out of food, and the whole village cries, and gets sick, and stops working That can be a bit annoying. I do love how on OAD how much you have food determines if you can train a new villager or military unit or not. If you want it historically just use your imagination. The romans also carried porridge on their journies because it was the easiest food to prepare, and drank wine when water was hard to find. So if you don't include this on OAD it will be historically inaccurate. You can't have every detail of history on a RTS

I think they did a wonderful job on this mod,and they are very accurate with the factions/history/timeline. I loved how you made the anglo Saxons similar to the norse as they were both pagan tribes, and they both shared their love for the Germanic gods. Most people would think the anglo Saxons were always christianised, and no they started out just like the Vikings except they were in different locations. {My English sucks heh} Beautiful job on this mod They always said a norse girl sounds like a happy /naïve when speaking English, but when we speak our native language we sound like a Valkyrie

I came up with a few new ideas How about we get to either use the captured enemies for work/fighting in our amy, or we can trade them off for food, wood, metal or stone. We can trade them off to a serf broker at the market. We can use a feature similar to the espionage button to capture our enemies to turn into serfs. Instead of a cavalry swordsman/infantry killing a girl farmer,a citizen or a soldier they can capture them, and trade them into slavery. With war comes prisoners.

Beautiful game, and a dream game for any girl/guy that loves history/roleplaying/and the feeling of the past. One gentleman mentioned higher grass and,I do agree that higher grass would be lovely, and also you can hide in the grass in war,and using sneaky tactics. Imagine an army of archers hiding in the grass ready to ambush ? How about we can capture our enemies, and use them as serfs to gather our resources so more soldiers can fight ? How about we can make traps, and use them in combat ? I love the idea of the war dogs heh That really adds to more power, and more aggression in war. I will come up with more ideas but so far this game is very fun/playable,and it's the game I always wanted in a RTS. TY

Thank you

So can I download the mod to my desktop than just move the folder to documents ?

Also this tutorial looks very thorough so I think this will help me ty

No success yet I did have a very fun game today playing the romans, and blocking the Carths from getting resources which lead to them losing by not progressing to build a good army. While I am waiting to download this beautiful medieval mod I am still enjoying heh

So where do I type that in ? Where I save it ?

I don't even speak the perfect English,nm techie English I didn't get it to work yet so no Viking raiding today, and this shieldmaiden needs to go to sleep heh Ty all for trying on this lovely day,and tomorrow is another day so maybe better luck.
