What is the main new feature for this alpha? This can help guide discussion of alpha name.

The topmost I can see are:

    1. New Models for Seleucid structures
    2. New Game Modes

But for the sake of suggesting,

Ulva -  an island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, off the west coast of Mull. It is separated from Mull by a narrow strait, and connected to the neighbouring island of Gometraby a bridge. Much of the island is formed from Cenozoic basalt rocks, which is formed into columns in places.

  2. Michael Šperl gave a cheap shot to 0 A.D. on this video's comments, saying that it will have the same fate as AoEO, and Feudal Wars. He doesn't even seem to know the difference between Free-to-Play and Open Source. I at least pointed out that his "prediction" to 0 A.D. is applicable to his beloved Empires Apart.

  3. There is a Back to Work function. It only appears on certain conditions. The Patrol function is still being worked on.

Concerning a Sidebar Design: Coming from Red Alert, I can say that it's fine. But I don't know how intuitive that is for 0 A.D.

The UI Design is quite a task.

  4. Hey, I'm one of that 1%. Have some heart will ya?:P

I'm for one willing to upgrade, but just can't afford to do it at the moment. Getting the minimum graphics card for this game was a year's struggle for me; It's that bad in my situation.

  5. In that case, I could suggest that there would at least be a "Save Replay" checkbox when the game ends. I wouldn't have even known that it was saving Replays until I just happen to stumble upon it when I was randomly exploring the menus.

  6. I don't know about the replay speed, but. I agree with the TimeBar. I had a lot of times when I wanted to skip or go back to certain moments in the game. It can even help when someone makes a video commentary of a certain replays.

    1. I was just looking for FOSS games.
    2. As everybody else mentioned, it's FOSS. But in addition to that, the Wildfire Games team does not give up keeping this game relevant and updated despite the sluggish development speed. Slow and steady wins the race! I'd rather have something like this than what happened to Feudal Wars. Also (although it's natural with history-based games), this game made studying history very enjoyable. Finally, 0 A.D. is the only, and I mean ONLY, RTS game that keeps my hopes up about AAA-quality FOSS RTS, so I really hope that the team keeps it alive. Not even the Spring Games can have this kind of effect on me.
    3. Video Tutorials. There are video tutorials on how to playthe game, but they're now outdated even if they are still relevant. There are WRITTEN tutorials on how to make and install mods, contribute to the development, etc., but I'm one of those who learn better on video (stanlista's video tutorial on how to import meshes and their textures to Blender for example).
    4. I'm going to bring this up. I consider Empires Apart as your direct competitor. I appreciate both games bring an AoE-style game to the modern era, but I will only accept one as the true successor. Besides that, this is a contest on FOSS vs. Proprietary development models, and I want to say that Open-Sourcing 0 A.D. was the best decision ever made.
    5. 27 - Male - Philippines

Edit: There was Lion's comment concerning OpenAge. It's also Open Source and that it's more of an attempt of remastering AoE than being a successor, so that's more of an in-house debate. I want to see this Proprietary vs. Open Source competition slugging it out.

  7. "Utopia" - The word comes from the Greekοὐ ("not") and τόπος ("place") and means "no-place", and strictly describes any non-existent society 'described in considerable detail'. However, in standard usage, the word's meaning has narrowed and now usually describes a non-existent society that is intended to be viewed as considerably better than contemporary society. Eutopia, derived from the Greek εὖ ("good" or "well") and τόπος ("place"), means "good place", and is strictly speaking the correct term to describe a positive utopia.

Couldn't think of words related to the victory game modes, so I focused on the remodelled structures of the Seleucids and Ptolemies.

  8. Alpha 19 was codenamed "Syllepsis" (meaning "Capture") because the capture feature was implemented.
Alpha 20 was codenamed "Timosthenes" (a famous cartographer) because there were a lot of additional maps.

I would like to come up with a name for Alpha 21 myself, but I barely witness what really goes on with the development to suggest anything.
