    If China rivals us in power, I'd have to say its largely due to Clinton selling missle technology to them.  Before Clinton, the Chinese couldn't keep a satellite in space.

    That may be Jordan, but the fact is that China has been taking technology from everyone, even mascarading military factories as civilian in order to quickly convert modern Western equipment meant for use in civilian projects for military use. Plus with all of the military equipment flowing from Russia to China, including an aircraft carrier, Su-30 (or 33 can't remember) Flankers, Sovremenny class destroyers, in addition to high tech equipment, it won't be long before China can start projecting its power in Asia. So its not just Clinton :ph34r: The US, Russia, Ukraine, Australians, French, and others have all provided weapons and equipment to the Chinese.

    As well the Chinese (militarily) are the biggest copycats on the block, most of their equipment are copies of Russian, American, and European weapons. While in more specific areas of manufacturing they may be more original, in general they show very little imagination, simply modifiying something designed by someone else, slap a PRC flag on the side and declare it a triumph of Chinese engineering. Take for instance the rocket they launched in October I think it was, it was a Chinese built copy of the Russian Soyuz :P

    I could go on, but the point is that the Chinese grab anything that works from someone else's armory and builds it for themselves: somehow they got the Phalanx CIWS from the US, modifying the French Exocet missile and calling it the YJ-1, etc.

    @ Jason - very cool article ;) Its really amazing some of the stuff that is being designed and created, as well as the tactics. I too wonder though about the USA: is it on the edge of decline? Look at all of the great powers of history who were the sole superpowers of their day: Assyria, Persia, Alexander the Great's Empire, Rome, Mongol Empire, British Empire. Some of them stood for a long time, but the time in which they were the sole superpower was short lived, some not even lasting 50 years in total. They may have hung on for a centuries, but they were never the power that they were ;) I say this as a lover of history and the USA, but I can see a day when there will not be a USA (and I mean in recorded history). DISCLAIMER: There is ABSOLUTELY no malice intended with this statement, just a simple point. Hopefully that day is a long way off.

    LOL that is awesome ;) Here's another one I love:

    There's a hockey game in full swing and the blue team is just having a grand old time, kicking butt it seems. One reason the fans are so riled is the fact that the team mascot, a big blue wolf, is dancing around a sinister looking device with the words "Shirt-zooka" on the side. In the middle of his prancing around he jumps behind the thing and starts shooting blue team t-shirts to the fans. They love it, so he shoots more, but suddenly the "zooka" shorts out and he starts getting electrocuted, involuntarily swinging the gun around firing shirts everywhere. He takes out fans, concession guys, but worst of all he takes out everyone on the blue team's bench, as well as the players on the ice. Finally the thing dies and the mascot manages to back off a bit, shaken and having assuredly melted his costume, to survey the damage. The entire blue team is out, leaving the opponents stading there stunned with the rest of the crowd, who can't believe it. Then you see this one guy cheering (wearing the opposing jersey if I remember correctly) and waving a Pro-Line ticket. The caption was something like "Miracles Happen" or something, can't remember :P LOL I just plain LOVE that one!!!! ;):ph34r:

    Absolutely!!! Amazing script a lot of emotion and power, especially in the death scene :banned: IMHO it stands a great chance of getting picked up by a studio! Unfortunately I'm not on the board of New Line :)

    Another movie that I would love to make would be a really awesome sci-fi flick with lots of cool aliens and blowing big stuff up :)
