  1. It was removed a week ago, so the link should probably be changed. Until then, the 3rd alpha was called "Cerberus."
  2. Idle_03 looks very much like a cat. (We have four.) You have clearly watched cats. I agree with GunChleoc, though, in that you should keep the tiger in that position for a little longer.
  3. As I understand it, rather than it being for a single entity it is tethered to a building, and every unit within the range of the building is garrisoned. Will the "Bell Tower" be garrison-able?
  4. A range would probably be better. I wasn't thinking it would be tied to a specific building, so that's why I said what can be seen by the user. We could also, maybe, make it so that you can set a unit to flee when it reached some preset level of health. So, for instance, if it got below 25, it would go into the nearest garrisonable building, preferring temples and ships, where available.
  5. I like the idea of two alerts. It wouldn't necessarily have to be two buttons though, it could just be one press, female units hide, and press again and male units hide. And maybe, it could only tell your units in the screen to hide, and you press shift (or something similar) to make all units of the type hide. That way, if you have one settlement that is under attack, you don't have your other settlements hiding for no reason. Which would be especially good if, for instance, you were sending a large army to the rescue of the ones in distress.
  6. Okay, thank you. I am rather a fast learner, when I set my mind to it, so I'll pick something and work on it.
  7. Position: Hopefully programmer/scripter, but really anything that needs to be done. Do you understand that Wildfire Games is a non-commercial project, work for 0 A.D. is volunteer, and work is done for free? Yes Do you agree to distribute all your work for Wildfire Games under Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license? Yes Name: Joseph Thomas Email: hillturtle4 (at) gmail (dot) com MSN Messenger: N/A Location: Oklahoma, USA Availability: 5-10 hours per week. Age: 17 Occupation: Student with part time job Skills and Experience: I have no particular skills or experience. I have a basic knowlage of HTML, and know more or less how coding works. I am, however, willing to learn, and am a bit of a perfectionest. Motivation: I want to learn a new skill, and help a good game reach it's full potential. Personality: I am an introvert who loves research, hates to leave something half done, and doesn't like being interupted. Short Essay: I first found 0 A.D. through the Synaptic Package Manager in Linux Mint. It looked interesting, and so I installed it. And then I looked around on the internet a little, and found this forum, and that it was still in alpha development, and thought it might be fun to join you. What I will get out of it, other than the game it's self, will be a knowlage of programming, and an increased knowlage of how computers work. (Was that a short enough essay? ) Interests and Hobbies: I am a Photographer, and a wonderer. I also enjoy knitting, photo editing, and some sound editing. Favorite Game: My favourite game is probably, for the time being at least, 0 A.D. Work Examples: N/A For me to learn programming, I would need someone to let me know what language, what tools I would need, (compiler, IDE if applicable) and a project to work on, and then after a little while to look at my work and let me know what I did wrong, and how to fix it. Thank you for your time.
  8. I have a couple of ideas... They have all been suggested previously, but for one of them, I have something to add, and the other two are mostly just to bring them back up, since maybe they are implimentable now. I think it would be nice to be able to raise chickens from the corral. It would be the same as the sheep, but would require less food, and would be faster, since there is less return. This would probably be the easiest to impliment. Maybe goats too. Raiding Calvary that can actually raid your enimies would be cool. For instance, they go into enimy territory and attack a building, and as they damage it, they gather resources. When they can cary no more, they go back to the civic center, if they live long enough. What resource they take would be random, and they would only be able to take one type at a time. It would take it out of the availible resources of the player they were attacking, kind of like a fourced tribute. And last, but not least, I would love to see a General in the future. He would be kind of like a hero unit in that he would have extra health and probably a damage bonus for his troops, but you would be able to have more than one at any one time. Allies could also maybe assign some of their troops to him, thus letting the other player controll their troops. There could also be an Overseer, who would be the same as a General but for economic jobs, rather than for battle. Also, this is kind of a borrowed idea, the General could cause the troops under his command to attack the units that they counter. So, instead of a swordsman attacking the calvary, the General would cause the spearmen to. Anyway, these are just ideas, and I would love to hear what everyone thinks of them.
