  1. All of the amours/weapons there are medieval, modern. Funny thing about that video is that I made it. Long time ago. lolz Before I didnt know about certain things. You can clearly tell those are later styles(influenced by Islamic works), not from the ancient period. Not in this period. Circular shields like Dhal shields became popular later on. Look at many of the reliefs from or around this period. The ones that did were probably Greek influenced.
  2. Rupeenews always bashes India and Hindus for obvious reasons. Look at 90% of their topics. If these theories were true. Chanakya would've gone the way of many legendary figures of India.
  3. Not so much fantasy, but they(most Indian film makers) always add/mix medieval and Islamic elements into ancient India. It's like mixing Medieval/Renaissance Italian clothing, architecture, etc into the Roman republic.
  4. You can see Mauryan, Sunga, etc lineage in these 8th-9th century monuments in South India. The arch design has evolved along with other things.
  5. They even gave the gate a medieval Persian arch. Which is found in medieval, modern India. Medieval Islamic influenced forts of Medieval India. You can clearly see they referenced medieval forts for a show that's supposed to take place in ancient India. Chanakya referenced the reliefs. The styling is different than the ones in ancient India. The architecture found on the Chanakya series and reliefs are far more authentic than the other show.
  6. Not so much, but you do have reliefs and rock cut works of Mauryan's successors like the Sungas, Satavahana, etc empires. Their culture, architecture, clothing, etc are all very similar to each other even though they're far apart. Leading one to believe it was Mauryan or earlier influence. @OM_Rahul The Chandragupta Mauryan show isn't authentic like the Chanakya show. I think even non-Indians can tell which one out of the two is more authentic. This is pretty much medieval Hindu India. Just look at the fort in the east. Compare Chanakya's depiction of a gate.
  7. Rahul, there is nothing in there that's even close to being before 1700 BC, trust me. Yeah, the boats can be useful. The costumes, walls, etc not really. It's like using images of medieval Europe for ancient Rome. Or using British pictures of Manchu-Qing China for the Han Empire. There's a gap of over 1000+ years. Architecture in India changed and evolved rapidly. Those images I've seen are medieval. Like the Chola temples.
  8. The paintings and images were taken/made in the colonial times. Must of the old structures in the images are medieval. Not so useful for this time period.
  9. I think the faction list for part 1 is final?? For part 2. I would like to see: Mayans - Mesoamericans Askum/Axum - Ethiopian Africans Guptas - Indians Goguryeo - Koreans Sui or Tang - Chinese
  10. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ When you guys start it a long ways from now. I'm going to suggest.
  11. Is it possible in part 2 to add the Aksum empire from Africa? And Guptas?
  12. These mother women figures could have became Lakshmi. http://www.shivlee.com/images/719_screencap_1574A.jpg http://www.shivlee.com/images/719_Samudragupta_Battle_Axe_type_Class_I_Var_B.jpg http://www.shivlee.com/images/700_samudragupta_battle_axe_class_II_.jpg http://www.shivlee.com/images/600_screencap_1302.jpg Gupta coins, another Magadha empire. The reverse always depicted Lakshmi. Indus, Mauryan, etc goddess would've been an early Lakshmi.
  13. I was thinking the same, but I don't think it was popular in the Mauryan times. I was thinking the Indus mother goddess, Mauryan mother goddess, etc were some sort of Proto-Lakshmi, but there isn't enough data. Four Mauryan goddess. But still, Lakshmi is the best I can think of.
  14. I'll make some suggestions. Dharma(Law). Spreading law or Dhrama was important to Ashoka. Magadha. From Nanda empire to the Pala empire it has been the base to rule from. Same for the Mauryans. Magadha is similar to the Fars province for the Persians. Patali-putra, Pataliputra. The capital of most Magadha based empires like the Mauryans.
  15. Yeah, that would be nice! Mauryan preview
  16. Sanghamitra(Ashoka's daughter) leaving with the Sapling of Bodhi Tree for Sri Lanka
  17. I have a question. When are you guys going to release the preview of the Mauryans?
  18. You're welcome Pureon. That show is made in the 90s and has a low budget, but it's the must accurate of all the videos, movies, etc I've seen of that period in India. A lot of these Indian film makers make simple mistakes like adding curved swords(talwar) and push daggars(katar) in films on Indian antiquity. Basically adding medieval India into ancient India. These guys have done great research.
