  1. It's just as easy to use the mouse buttons in that case, Wize.
  2. Yeah, I don't particularly see the need for normal mapping in an RTS of this kind. Just my humble opinion. Plus, do we really want to contend with the probable (?) performance hit?
  3. Below you'll find a few teaser images of what you can expect out of us in the coming months - more conceptual artwork, as well as tangible proof of the progress of the game in the form of full color screenshots. Firstly, our very own team of building modellers and texture artists, namely CheeZy and Wijitmaker, have completed an entirely new draft of the Hellenes building set based on Mythos_Ruler's concepts. The new Hellenes buildings have a much more historical feel to them, as we are sure you'll agree: And secondly, some exciting new conceptual works will soon be unveiled, giving you an even deeper understanding of the units in the game and the visual direction we are going with them. The below is a part of the "Spartiate" Hellenes "Super Unit" as painted by our very own Hyborian: Stay tuned for more game artwork to be revealed in the coming weeks and months!
  4. Well, I understand exactly what Carlos is getting at. However, we do not have any examples of a 2D camera in existance (in fact, they are impossible for us 3D being to create). I doubt it will take a 4D camera in order to take 3D pictures, just 2 apertures for the 3D camera to similar the two "apertures" in of our eyes.
  5. Hey man, show me a 2-dimentional camera that can capture 1-dimentional videos (lol!!!).
  6. Well, the difference there, is that the "Starfleet Communicator" is supposed to send "subspace" signals something like 1 million km away. For one thing, we have no idea how to send voice data at superluminal speeds, and we have yet to make a cell phone with a 1 million km range. Both things we'd need to accomplish if we were to properly replicate the Starfleet Communicator.
  7. Regarding the archer and the useage of more than one type of weapon, such a feature is already spec'd for the game, but only to be used for each civilisation's "Super Units" (analogous to "Unique Units" in AOK). For instance, the Persian Immortal super unit will use both the short bow and spear, the bow at range and the spear when in hand-to-hand combat. Such a feature is not only cool, but in this instance historically accurate as well. Your average standard bowman, however, will only utilize his bow throughout the game.
  8. Up where it says My Controls * View New Posts * My Assistant etc. - perhaps a link/feature View Last 24 Hours that shows all posts made within the past 24 hours.
  9. http://www.spikedhumor.com/Article.aspx?id=275 NATO/U.S. troops have too much time on their hands in Kosovo. LOL
  10. Thanks! 11. How do you guys get those links to show right? All I get are the default page links, because the maps are opening in a java frame or something, not changing the actual address of the page. Anyway, if you want to see my town, type in "Fort Wayne."
  12. At the current time we have no concrete plans to make the game available via CD. In the future, once we approach alpha and beta, we might investigate the possibilities, but at this juncture, ah, we got nothin'.
  13. Or the as-shipped AOM editor (pre-Reyk's New Editor mods).
  14. Got caught shopligting at about age 10... but the store manager simply sent me home. Got a speeding ticket once. That's it.
  15. Katie looks good when she pins her hair up in a casual/classic do. When she has her ahir down though, I dunno, I just don't "feel it." I'd maybe be Steven Spielberg.
  16. I'd be Brad Pitt on vacation with Angelina Jolie. :D :D
  17. The current plan calls for as much moddability as we can pack into the game (without compromising the engine). The Atlas Editor will include modding tools and we'll "ship" the game with many of the tools we used to complete the game.
  18. I'd love to make a Sci-Fi RTS myself... hint/hint.
  19. Old Navy for some cheap T-shirts and such. Wal-mart for cheap sandals and some cheap clothes. Target for pretty much anything else.
  20. Well, we could always do some cool easter egg thing for the cheats, but that's low on the list of priorities.
  21. Just curious... where does the "juggernaught" come from and was it really a class of ship in ancient times? Or, as I suspect, is it a designation we modern historians have dubbed for any super large ancient warship?
  22. Not bad, not bad. Although, not every civ will get every unit type.
  23. We have a working design document, that surely lists every unit for each civ. Of course, any unit list we put on the website will come from this document, but the document itself is nothing like unit list for a game you'd find on a fan site or anything.
