Klaas
Every week I'll post an article here about the history of mankind until the conquest of Gaul by Caesar. I'm following a course now about this time period, so this will also help me studying it So expect the first one somewhere next week.
DarkAngelBGE
Top idea, Klaas. But what will we put on the site's article section then?
Wijitmaker
The articles posted here in the forums
Fire Giant
I probably might be able to add some minor articles about the Roman Army later - my new book has quite interesting informations about the army in it But for now, I have no time for that and also need to read the whole book before I can write anything
DarkAngelBGE
@Jason: Hmm maybe we can add the articles to the article section and have a link "Discuss this article" next to them, which would redirect the user to the appropriate forum thread ? CodeOptimist
It's Wijit's call, but that idea sounds good, DA.
Wijitmaker
Yep thats what I was thinking too Tim... I think at the end of the article on the site, they would just click a button to 'add comment' as it takes them to the same article on the posted in this forum. DarkAngelBGE
Yeah, the only (small) problem would be to generate a forum thread automatically when somebody submits an article from the Intranet CMS. But then again it will be a small one.Edit: In fact, it's no problem.
Klaas
Well those won't be the only ones I'll write. I also have other classes on which I can write articles, I'll give you a brief overview of those that woulf fit here (so excluding everything concerning post roman history and history itself):- Oldest times: the beginning of mankind - conquest of Gaul by Julius Caesar (including human evolution, the first farming communities, the first towns, the Celts and the Germans)- Historical practice: guide to being a historian- Historical critisism: how to handle historical sources- Historical overview of the third world before the colonization: including history of Africa, Asia and Latin America
DarkAngelBGE
Sounds very good to me. Is also handy for the average highschool Joe when it comes down to history classes. Top!
Klaas
Lol, might be too detailed for the average history Joe Btw I'll need your help, I have a historical atlas, but it's in German and I don't know German
