Is the Random Map Setting Truly Random?

when you select Random under map does that mean you’re getting a truly randomly generated map or does it mean the game is picking a map from the list at Random?

 I wish it was truly random, I wish I could code so I could help make one

The random map is generated but you can select wish kind, like islands or unknow land for example is most random type.

the game have scenarios these can be selected randomly.

skirmish can be selected same.

and random maps.

Random in the map selection would mean it's picking a random one from the list. But selecting random type would give a whole different list of maps all of which are procedurally generated.
