I saw there are some total modifications, such as the addition of Asian civilizations, modern warfare and even ponies lol. But I'm really surprised nobody brought up anything about Empire Earth, and specially Rise of Nations. After all, the territories feature in 0a.d. is very similar to the one seen in RoN.So I want to know if you people would like this to happen? A total modification for 0a.D. that adds EE and RoN features. In my opinion its been a long time since this type of game was last released, being empire Earth III in 2007 (Though this one was a huge failure). Since then we haven't gotten to enjoy any other release of one of this titles. So, if there are still fans of the series around here, post about your thoughts. Maybe we can encourage the 0a.D. community and moders to try to make a mod of this scale and hopefully succeed. Introduction of oil, electricity. First vehicles such as tanks and submarines.Modern Age: From cold war to today. Atomic energy (nukes).It would be nice if each faction had historical accuracy, though it should be balanced, so maybe some factions won't be very historically accurate. For example Italy has Legionaries while Greece has Hoplites during classical age. USA has AH-64D Apaches while Germany has Eurocopter tigers in modern age, etc. Each faction would be unique.The other option would be to separate the civilisations into 3 types. West, middle east and far east. These would share units, but would have unique units too. This would be less historical accyrate, but would make thinks simplier and more balanced.West : USA, Spain, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, France, Greece, Russia.Middle east: Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Israel.Far east: China, India, Korea, Japan.So far I have seen some problems with units like tanks, turrets don't seem to work correctly. But there are always workarounds (For example make turrets static, so you force the entire chassis to face the enemy in order to shoot.). Air units are not a problem either as there is a plane already in the game, but there is still room for improvement. I know how to 3D model and texture, and I have done some maps. sanderd17 Posted June 16, 2015 Report Share Posted June 16, 2015 Air units are a bit of a problem, as they will always target the footprint when attacking (and hitting the footprint will count as a hit). Turrets would be easier to support in the current state. Though there are different forms of turrets, on different sorts of entities.
