rjs23
I find that not being able to reach on the top of the impassible cliff to be unrealistic. Same feeling that we're not able to build bridge over the water and we must use transportation ship instead.I propose a solution below:Without building flying transporation, we should be able to carve cliff's stone slowly into a stair that would grant an access to the top of the impassible cliff. It would take a while to accomplish based on cliff height. The stair placement has similar effects as dock placement but must be placed on cliff instead of shore.Example:http://guineveregets...irs-189x300.jpghttp://apostrophethe...f-koko-head.jpghttp://www.nationalg...512/1358013.jpgThis would allow towers to be at higher ground and give more LOS based its ground height. zoot
The ability to deform terrain with a placeable mesh is already wanted for cliffs. You have any ideas for how it could be implemented?
MishFTW
I've long said we should be able to build roads. And a must: the terrain has to be flattened when a building is placed on it. But 0 A.D. is a war game, sadly in this case.
historic_bruno
I would rather have a technology or civ bonus that allows select units to scale steeper hills and mountains. We only need to find a historical basis for that For the Carthaginians at least it seems an obvious choice as Hannibal crossed the Pyrenees and Alps to reach Italy. wrod
i think it would look cool with stairs

He didn't scale mountains with his elephants though.
majapahit
Is it possible to create some special area where:Stairs can be built next to mountains?Ramps can be built next to hills?Bridges can be built across rivers?
zoot
And a must: the terrain has to be flattened when a building is placed on it.I saw you just opened a ticket for this. It is actually already mentioned in #21.
Asterixfan
Yeah, through passes. He didn't scale mountains with his elephants though. And he lost most of his army to weather, Gaulish tribes, and desertions. That would be a cool scenario.
Patricius
It could be something that a peasant constructs himself automatically to make a shorter route once a tech has been researched. It would make an acropolis hill in a Greek settlement look pretty and act as a core of a settlement without bottlenecks.
