Is it wrong to answer totally offtopic-threads?

Three reasons this won't be a competitor:

1. Stronghold focuses on the Medieval Age, not the Classical Ages.

2. It's unlikely to be Open-Source and multi-platform like 0 A.D.

3. It probably hasn't half the features 0 A.D. will have, including the mod-ability that 0 A.D. aims to have.

Its not off topic as this is a general @#$% Forum, isnt it?

its still a competitor in my eyes 'cos i loved the stronghold..... series? hmm, maybe not the whole thing but the games i did like were freaking epic, it took my eyes off AoE for ages, until recently, it still counts as a competitor as its going to be freaking epic (if they pull it off) and 0ad wont have half the features that Stronghold 3 will have

and reading further, its going to be historicly accurate, in the terms of strongholds history, not in earth history it seems, even if it is in europe XD *facepalm*

I enjoyed the first stronghold, although the quality went down with every title until Stronghold crusader extreme, I guess the biggest rip-off in gaming history.

But no, this is not competition. Never will be. Different time, focus on besieging, etc...

The only thing i like in stronghold is castle micromanagement thing.It's more like "build your castle well", and yeah, their castle building is the best.

I think IF the wall thing in 0 A.D. is better, plus traps system addition, then stronghold is never be a competitor.

Note: what's the big cow in third picture(in gamescom link) ???

I think that one was catapulted, i think, wouldnt have a clue could have been put there for the lols, but i seriously got no idea and actually didnt notice till you pointed that out
