Ykkrosh
I think the reason that I can't take the high resolution screenshots is because my keyboard is broken. You can change the key settings - look in binaries/data/config/default.cfg and create a local.cfg saying hotkey.bigscreenshot = "F3" or similar. blablahead
Thanks! Alright I figured it out, here is a better screen:Thacian Cavalry and Swordsman Edited August 26, 2010 by blablahead
Mythos_Ruler
Those are great. I could definitely see a 'Thracian' faction modded into the game. I like how u used all existing art assets from the game.
blablahead
Yeah, I was actually planning on adding a Thracian civ eventually. They fit perfectly into the timeline of 0 AD and there is already some art in game that I can use .
AuroN2
Thracians and their warbands, those sickles would be quite a pain, so no doubt high dmg low hp units?
SMST
Awesome stuff, there! Keep it up, blablahead. (Yeah, I am officially back right now ... I cannot believe I missed the Alpha!) Edited September 18, 2010 by SMST
feneur
(Yeah, I am officially back right now ... I cannot believe I missed the Alpha!)There are more to come And I can tell you there are some nice improvements already in the SVN version over the alpha version, so the second alpha will be really nice
AuroN2
By the way, that doesnt look like a falx, a falx was a massive scythe thingy wasnt it? Would like to see an attempt at a Pontus faction, or Bosphoron, or even Egyptian--Oh and the screenies are sweet, i cant seem to find the actor editor, is it seperate or do i have to re-download the alpha?Found the solution, reinstalled with source code & Tools, didnt do that before obviously o.O Edited September 20, 2010 by AuroN2

blablahead
By the way, that doesnt look like a falx, a falx was a massive scythe thingy wasnt it? There was a two handed version, the rhomphaia, which was much longer and straighter. The falcata that I'm using is the closest thing in game right now, so I'm using that (falx and falcata both come from Latin "sickle", I believe, so it makes sense)
Mythos_Ruler
Well, and also the Thracians certainly used the falcata ('Kopis' in Greek), so this works just fine for a "swordsman." Perhaps use the falx ('rhomphaia' in Greek) for the Thracian Super Infantry unit. Blablahead, if you want to zip up the actors and post them, then I will add them to the game as Atlas editor units (like the Hypaspists) for Alpha II. Have you made entities yet, or should I?
