It's a an assuring thing to know that the developers are behind the release, not just anybody. Flathub are the largest and most adopted repo among linux desktop. Far beyond similar packaging systems like AppImage and Snap. Ever since Flathub introduced verification i only install packages from flathub with verification. I don't think i'm the only one.
