Abadu
I updated spain,so take a look hereAnd one question:Do you prefer calll this faction Spain or Castille-Leon?
Belisarivs
I don't know. I wouldn't see problem even when it was named differently for each period?Handgunner -> Musquetero or Arcabucero or something like thatTry to avoid English names. But it looks good anyway. Good research.Have a look at http://www.users.on.net/~roehr/RTW/CTW/Guide/images/spain/It is source of some of your images. I just went to parent directory. Go one more step up and you'll see other faction lists. Edited March 4, 2007 by Belisarivs
Abadu
I will rename the peasant and the handgunner latterAnd the idea of a diferent name per period sounds interesting
Belisarivs
I miss knightly orders.Calatrava, Portuguese Aviz ....Leonese Knight -> Bellatore
AntiArChaon
In Porugal we also had the Order of Christ, the ex Templars, that in Portugal changed the name isntead of just being destroyed.
Abadu
I tought that we mat have a "special" way to recruit knights, such as building order houses and chapels.I also think that Spain(Castille-Leon) already have many "regular" units, but that is my opinion Edited March 18, 2007 by Abadu
Belisarivs
I understand your point, abadu.Once I ask you to replace or remove units that have stats and usage close to other units of same faction and period and once I suggest to add them.Well, it is pretty chaotic.Problem is, that I don't know if WFG will include Total War style in Part 2 or not.In Total War style, it would be no problem to have heavy cavalry unit along with knightly order. But in AoK style duplicating units would be simply redundant. However, I think, that Knights of Calatrava, Santiago and Aviz (and perhaps other) were quite interesting and important. Abadu
No question that they are very interesting, but,as you said,we dont know about part II,so for now I think we should design it for a AoE like engine. That's why i tought about they dont being regular units, more like AoE III native units(For example, you would sent an emissary to castles of military orders that appears on certanly maps to build thier units). What do you think? Belisarivs
Fine. Do it in AoK style.About that feature in AoE III, I don't know it. I've never played AoE III. But keep in mind, that Knights of Santiago fought for Spain (AFAIK), so other nations sending emissary shouldn't be able to train them.
Abadu
That is a good point, but I still think we could use that idea for other orders(Since it would be hard to make the first and second period of those if they became full civs)I will think about the iberian knights
Belisarivs
I think, that it wouldn't be problem if you added put them in you list. Just put them separated as some special units we will keep an eye on and will discuss them later.Just in case we decide to use them.EDIT: I got an idea. What if we make textures for those orders and give them to normal knights. If player trains knights, some of them would be in dress of the order.. Abadu
The idea of order textures is interestingI have another idea:What if we had a technology that,if researched, upgrade the knight to oreder knights
Belisarivs
Well, this would mean, that all Spanish knights would be knights of one order. It would look weird and be ahistorical.
Abadu
Ok,so we get rid of this ideaI will add them to the list, latter we decide what to do with themEDIT:The next researchs can take more time because I will need to find another way to get osprey scans, but it will not take a lot of time Edited March 25, 2007 by Abadu

Belisarivs
It certainly would be great. But we are trying to make mod realistic. So, mythological creature wouldn't fit there well.
Justinian
If you're going to do an order of knights do Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta (hospitallers) or the Knights Templar. Those two are probably the most well known knights. Edited April 9, 2007 by Scipii_Alemanus
Belisarivs
They really are. But these didn't fight for Spanish. Spanish had own ordes like Calatrava, Santiago and Alcántara. Edited April 9, 2007 by Belisarivs
