If there's not going to be a lot of content, then go for 2 or 4, definitely
in my honest opinion, it seems that 2 is the most basic, and thus probably suits your needs the best. Also, I like having navigation on the left, but it's a personal thing.

Looks good, I'll withhold commenting on it until it's complete though. The grammar could use a little polishing, but it's pretty solid other than that.
Where did you come up for the format for it? I've been looking for something similar for my HL2 mod.
As for investors, most want to buy into something proven, as it's sure to work.

eh, they'd screw up ours if they had the chance

i meant between people - direct one peer to one peer
as far as i know, ftp is client/server

That's the chicken-and-egg conundrum you're facing there - if no one uses Linux, no one bothers to make hardware drivers for it. If no one makes hardware drivers, no one will want to use Linux. So someone has to start the cycle...
The thing is people can't write drivers if the companies don't release specs of their products. Some companies do, and end oup having linux support (community driven, too) while others can't be bothered and are Windows only.

depends on how much information you're trying to get out... I prefer 1, because it's the most open

how about a program/protocol (open source, of course!) that *just* transfers files?

I "binge" on games - I'll stay up till 3 in the morning playing a game for a couple nights in a row then not touch it for a week

voip has potential, but what someone really needs to do is tie in their computer and existing phone line for an "Internet.5" only for voice comm. If you can talk on the phone without a computer, than you really should talk on the phone with a computer. There's probably apps, but it hasn't caught on.
Aside from that, what I'd really like to see is something that replaces flash as a web interface. So far, you need a lot of JavaScript knowledge and a bit of trickery, and you can't even get close to the same level of integration.

But I would like to remain somewhat realistic and try to invent a nuclear fusion reactor.
I recall an article about them building one in France. Can't be bothered to find the link at the moment - too tired ;p
I would love to see something that greatly reduced the heat of microprocessors, so that we can increase the speed and power even further.

I'm enrolled into Chemistry for the fall '05 semester, took Physics during the spring '05 semester.
By the way, let me restate how the AP system sucks - more and more work with more and more stress for something that is recognized in less and less colleges. If possible take the course at your local community college (like I am) - it's undeniable proof that you can handle college level work.

Why do this when you could just substitute a firefox shortcut (with ie icon for the especially stubborn) wherever the ie icon is? They can always just type in a web address in the file path bar if they really wanted to I guess.

I've finished the book - was it just me or was it rather rushed at the end? Was that the effect J.K. Rowling was going for?

reading now; will confirm or deny at that point
btw the correct 'spoiler' is "snape kills dumbledore"

Good, solid design, although red on blue isn't going to look well on lower resolutions or stretched images (ie projectors).
As of now, everything looks a bit segmented, but once you get content it should balance that out.
I wouldn't have the C robert-hoffman.com at the top - it wastes space where you could put the copyright notice at the bottom with the other one
This is probably just me, but I like my menus on the left, as I read left to right. It's much more natural for me, and I assume others as well
Aside from a few nitpicks, very well done.

I've gone through the configs, but everything i've researched says that only drivers taht you neeed to purcahse work completely - everything else prints with screwed up margins or otherwise ****** up stuff.

1) Well, I could use it with success, but I hadn't a clue of how to actually install and administer properly :/
2) Canon 560i
3) I have no clue what that means ;_;
-
ahh, I was running that for a while
I would have switched to full SuSe except for three major problems: 1) I had no clue as to how linux worked 2) My printer was borked with linux (no drivers) and 3) I couldn't see other computers on the network.

I've always installed Windows, then Linux as Windows tends to disregard other OSes...
Have you tried it that way?
-
Costco all the way!

I wasn't aware that it was that much of a competition?

I would make a check to see if the string is an integer right after the user inputs it

Call it a pre-emptive srike?

I believe you can only have one "sh*t" or "fv*k" and have a movie PG-13
And the final name for Windows Longhorn is...
in Computer Desk
Posted
what's in a name?
I suppose it wouldn't have been as approachable if it was called "Longhorn"
In fact, Longhorn made less sense :/
