Euh, what is validating?
It is going to a validator (like the one on w3.org ), enter the URL of your site, and it will tell you if there are any errors or non-standard code in your webpage.

I'm thinking of putting a different Linux distrobution on my computer and I want either Gentoo or Debian. Which do you think is better? (assuming I could get through the installation of Gentoo which is not user-friendly)

I jost got a very old PS/2 keyboard and I'm just using that.

@CodeOptimist: Yep, its a USB keyboard and mouse. I was able to get linux installed because they started working at the "Test a CD?" screen.
@Dnas: Unfortunately, I don't have an extra hard drive.
I tried to put in the Fedora Core 3 Install DVD and I was able to delete everything from there. And now suddenly the Windows install disk is working.

Ok.
My brother and I wanted to temporarily get rid of Linux so that we could put Windows on, resize partitions, and put linux on.
And here's what we did:
From the terminal,
su root
cd /
rm -Rf *
Unfortunately, the boot stuff didn't delete, so the computer starts up but can't go to the OS because it is GONE! And when I try to boot from the Windows Installer CD, it says "Press any key to boot from CD", but the keyboard and mouse don't work until the OS loads and the os doesn't exist! Help!
