  1. I began to notice on certain member's name tags, that you guys belong to factions. I've only witnessed two so far:

The Roma Victor Faction (on Paul's sig).

The Hellenes Liberation Faction (on Mytho's sig).

Are these official 0 AD Clans?

If so, hwo do members from the forums join them?

Do you have to be a member of the Staff to be a part of the Faction?

And I also noticed that there are only 2... am I missing more?

    Thanks!

  2. Wonna know what's a great feeling? Being able to say to people (and your team mates), that you're able to program, draw, texture, and model; is that it's all true. Just a wonderful feeling. And being committed to something is even better, sticking with it, completeing it, and than smiling and saying: "Look! Its my cake! I baked it!" :wine::P

  3. Are there any Celtic Concepts completed? (building wise). Because I noticed that there are screenshots of Celtic buildings and such, when there are no concepts. Just wondering if you guys are holding out on us. :P:wine: And if you did do the Celts first, might I ask why? Why not post buildings that are done... like Hellenes, or Persians?

  4. It looks more Egyptian based to me. Considering that Egypt was absorbed by Persia during 0ad's time period, it would make a good reference to the Persian civilization. I say Egypt, because I studied Egypt for around a year because of my own old gaming project. :'(

  5. Lol. I'm not TRYING to make competition here, but everyone is entitled to there own vision of JRR's writings right? And technically, you guys are the professionals at freeware game developement. Thats why I came to YOU. :P Considering, I'm an Amateur. :P

BTW... Adam, almost a month on conceptualizing the project for me! :P :P

  6. Got my copy of the Silmarillion today. Almost finished with Ainulindale. Probably start on the Valaquenta tonight. And I have some stickies, and I'm placin' them on important pages to remember. :P

So far, I have one sticky... for the Discord of Melkor! When the Ainur and Melkor "fight" during their singing within the presence of Iluvatar. I'd also like to point out, that imo, Tolkien made Eru, or Iluvatar, a little like God eh? Being that the "Elves and Men were the Children of Iluvatar, the Firstborn, and the Followers".

Well, I guess I better do some more reading, cause I want to start on... nevermind, that's between me and Adam. :-P :P

  7. To bad the Elves viewed themselves (or were portrayed) as seperate kindreds. What is needed is to have Morgoth's butt kicked around a little bit. But Azaghal does that pretty much to Glaurung (sorry if spelled wrong). :-p I guess the Elves (Noldor and Sindar) get their glory and fame in during the siege of Angband eh? And I'm not to swift on Morgoth... he uses Vampires, and Bats? Like come on... at least he came up with Balrogs and Dragons (Uruloki` types). ;) If there was a race that I had to choose between it'd be either first age Dwarves, and... I dunno, stuck between Edain, and Noldor (really not liking evil, after reading the books). However, I'm still a fan of the evil because of the movies, but the movies (LOTR Trilogy) portray the books so inaccurately (in my belief). So now for some community driven questions...

If you were in Beleriand, what civilization would you choose to be under?

  8. I've been studying up several of the first age civs that the TLA team has presented to the public (Dwarves, Noldor, Sindar, Forces of Darkness, of Morgoth, Falathrim, and the Noegyth Nibin). However, I came across a civilization not presented to the public in the TLA list of minor (or major civilizations): The Gondolindrim. I discovered this civilization in my "Tolkien's World from A-Z: A Complete Guide To Middle Earth". What intrigued me the most about the Gondolindrim, is that they were mostly a conglomerate of Sindar and Noldor who melded both of their civilizations into one. As a result, hence, the Gondolindrim were born. (I've been reading the Book of Lost Tales 1 and 2). I was wondering, is TLA gonna incorporate the Gondolindrim? And if so, will it be a minor or major civilization, seeing as it was one of the last Elven kingdoms of Beleriand before it sunk into the Great Sea.
