  1. Most excellent film, with the following attributes:

SPOILERS possible, so read at your own discretion.

    1. The leading lady was ravishingly beautiful :)

    2. Excellent action, top notch.

    3. A storyline echoing (almost exactly in some places) classical tales, particularly the Aeneid :) You'll know which part when you see it.

    4. Barbossa is a much more well developed character, and almost as interesting as Jack.

    5. The purgatory scene was somehow quite appealing to me. Reminded me of Dante or Milton, with a touch of the legend of Sisyphus. That one section of the film was extremely artistic to someone as enamoured with the ancient world as I am.

    Go see it!

  2. You're waiting for Oblivion too? Same deal, need a new comp to run it (and 0 AD). So I play Morrowind instead, although Oblivion is looking to be several times better than that already stellar game.

You play Morrowind? I trust you aren't a Telvanni :) Redoran is the only house for true warriors ;) I am in the Thieves Guild though. Figure that, a Dunmer warrrior in the Lord's Mail, Daedric greaves, and packing a load of heavy weaponry busting into houses and picking locks :D

Managed to get myself into practically every guild (except the Mage's Guild) and maintain my membership in all of them. Morag Tong are an interesting bunch. Fighter Guild are a bunch of prats, and I could really care less about the free room and board (usually bunk in the bush), plus I'm stinking rich and have good armorer skills so I don't need the discounts on repairs. Plus a lot of their quests are rather tame. I prefer hunting Daedra rather than killing crazed kwama :)

    Phew......geek mode done for now!

  3. Dark Elf warrior, specializing in hand to hand combat and heavy armor. Weaponry tends to lean towards two handed swords and polearms. It tends to reflect my real life fighting style (I'm 6'3, 215 lbs).

Besides that, I've always liked playing Elven rogues, with light weaponry such as knives and short swords coupled with throwing stars.

  4. Here's a picture of my new pride and joy, the Pompeii gladius from Find-It-Armories. It is roughly 30 inches long and comes for a very reasonable price, well within the budget of a poor college student. Additionally the Find-It-Armory gladius is highly regarded among reenactors for its accuracy and manufacture. Although not nearly as tough as the Albion gladii, the FIA example is a great starting piece. More Roman equipment to come in the future!

Sad part is that I haven't actually held it yet, so if you are wondering, it is my mother holding the piece. In a couple of weeks I should have pictures of myself with it :)
