  1. No culture ever existed within a video game either! zomg! But anyway, point taken.
  2. It's called "artistic license" so folks should not be too offended. At least the head thing is based on something real, instead of turning Persian Immortals into goblins ('300').
  3. How about the hypothetical "preview image" feature in Atlas take a 400x300 screenshot and put it on a 512x512 file.
  4. Yeah, so I'm guessing 512x512 would suffice. There is the issue that the actual "preview" in the UI is not a square. Will it be centered or taken from the top or what? Thanks.
  5. Again, very nice job. Can I go ahead and commit this version? One request would be to make the trees slightly less straggly, meaning clump them together a little more? This would open up a little more room to plant new Civ Centres. Just clump them a liiiiittle bit more. I appreciate the "look" you're going for with the wilderness, but slightly clumpier, with a little more room to build, and it could still look nice.
  6. Looks awesome. The game will definitely need terrain flattening for buildings though! There have been a few fits and false starts over the years on implementing height map importation. Maybe this can be the final (successful) attempt.
  7. Perhaps the Britons can retain the older models that look more "primitive" (the round huts, etc.), while the Gauls can have some updated buildings to look more "civilized" (longhouses for houses instead of the round huts, etc.).
  8. Nice. Maybe a couple more strings of mountains? It's supposed to be an "Alpine" map after all.
  9. Added Pythons (Tropic-Africa and Tropic-Asia) and Cobras (Tropic-Asia and Desert). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AgXkx2Fjag5hdHZDV08zeVpqQ3ZKVDBYekV5UTJ4eVE&output=html
  10. For random maps, I think a whole map shot is best, to get a good overview. For skirmish maps (i.e., the scenarios I've designed for the game that play like random maps), the designer might want to show the whole map or just a section of the map. For custom scenarios, designers might not want to reveal too much, so they would show a smaller part of the map or import their own custom graphic.
  11. It would be good to have a script that pulls all the entity stats for all kinds of useful purposes. An Android app would be one of those. Nice thinking. Good thinking outside of the box here.
  12. Accidentally left those out. Fixing. To which biomes?
  13. Snakes might be doable. Will someone come up with a list of snakes possible for the different biomes, then we can choose which to include (those that are most recognizable and most known for those environments).
  14. Yep, and the map designer can take the preview snapshot at will, simply overwriting the existing one.
  15. The Art team will probably make a [Task] thread either for specific Mauryan buildings or Mauryan buildings as a whole. That would be a good place to zip up and post your submissions for now, until we figure out how/if we want to use Trac. You can also make threads of your own and then we can moderate/combine them with others as needed.
  16. If the Ptolemies were ever added to the game, the Lighthouse would definitely be one of their Special Buildings.
  17. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AgXkx2Fjag5hdHZDV08zeVpqQ3ZKVDBYekV5UTJ4eVE&output=html ^Did it in Google Docs because I can't figure out how to make a table/spreadsheet on the forum. List is culled from the Map Biomes list here: http://www.wildfireg...showtopic=15562
  18. Perhaps a Map Script can be allowed to override the default sizes, or we have 3 groups of "sizes" that each script can choose from: Big, Default, Small.
