Complexity setting

Hi,

(Please forgive my bad English ; )

I am relative new with this game.

I wonder if there could be, not only the existing difficulty setting with a better Ai, but a complexity setting.

I could made a lot of arguments for this. To sum it up:

Some people want a simple and fun game experience. Where it is easy, to get in to a game and you don´t have to think to hard about everything. They simply want to enjoy a good game.

And there are others, like me, who want to get mentally challenged, who find a good game should be like a good chess game, with a little bit more action.

I guess this would be a thing for after the beta release.

These are some of my ideas for a higher complexity setting:

You have to put archers inside towers, before they can shoot (or, if possible, have vision.)

Units can break in the door, kill everybody and take over the tower.

Walls cost a lot and can´t be destroyed by soldiers (or maybe really slowly, like they would take the stones out of the wall, by hand. )

Units should never destroy fields and should not attack other civil buildings and persons if you don´t send them to lot. They will auto attack all near buildings and persons for a while, in which they can´t be controlled. (I think it could be done with the "aggressiveness settings" of the units)

Stockpiles and a granary where workers can put goods in it and maybe the worker take goods out of it.

Workshops an additional production buildings, like a bronze mine (The focus should always lay by the fighting and it should not become a anno game) I think Stronghold 1 has a reasonable amount of buildings and production structures.

I could go on and on, but I thing you get it. I think the idea in the end should be, to get from small village or from a camp side to a big city, where you have to take care of infrastructure problems, to keep up the supply for your army, while fighting a war.

Let me hear your thoughts on this or what you would like to add in higher complexity settings. I think the main objective should be to make a more realistic and more strategy heavy game.

And thank you for reading ^^

I am a little confused about the suggestion that archers have to be in a tower in order to shoot? That doesn't make any sense to me.

I think walls are supposed to be left untouched by non-artillary units? I thought I read somewhere that it may be implemented.

I agree that farms should be left alone unless a player gives the command to destroy them.

Moreover, if you or an ally "capture" a farm by making your citizen work on it, it doesn't prevent nearby military units from attacking it. Maybe the farms should be gaïa by default ?
