f45 Posted February 12, 2012 Report Share Posted February 12, 2012 This was compiled on Arch Linux. Getting errors when 0ad is run as a regular user:$ 0adCache: 500 (total: 5973) MiBfile_system.cpp(155): Function call failed: return value was -110300 (Insufficient access rights to open file)Function call failed: return value was -110300 (Insufficient access rights to open file)Location: file_system.cpp:155 (CreateDirectories)Call stack:(0x7ba52a) ./pyrogenesis() [0x7ba52a](0x761cc1) ./pyrogenesis() [0x761cc1](0x76299e) ./pyrogenesis() [0x76299e](0x762199) ./pyrogenesis() [0x762199](0x767872) ./pyrogenesis() [0x767872](0x76780b) ./pyrogenesis() [0x76780b](0x76a9b2) ./pyrogenesis() [0x76a9b2](0x773838) ./pyrogenesis() [0x773838](0x593e48) ./pyrogenesis() [0x593e48](0x59606d) ./pyrogenesis() [0x59606d](0x41fda8) ./pyrogenesis() [0x41fda8](0x413bfe) ./pyrogenesis() [0x413bfe](0x7fd7e56b138d) /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xed) [0x7fd7e56b138d](0x41f1c9) ./pyrogenesis() [0x41f1c9] errno = 0 (Insufficient access rights to open file) OS error = ? Anyway to solve these errors? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
f45 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Report Share Posted February 14, 2012 Anything on this? Looks like its trying to create a directory somewhere it shouldn't.The game is saving fine now, so you can disregard the second error. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kazu Kun Posted February 14, 2012 Report Share Posted February 14, 2012 You installed the game as root, right? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
leper Posted February 14, 2012 Report Share Posted February 14, 2012 Is by any chance some of the folders .config or .local in your ~ directory owned by another user (usually caused by running programs that write there as root)?Did you build it with makepkg and install it with pacman?The saved games are stored in ~/.local/share/0ad/saves/ (or $XDG_DATA_HOME/0ad/saves if you changed that environment variable) so you should check the file permissions of that folder. Ykkrosh Posted February 16, 2012 Report Share Posted February 16, 2012 If you're able to edit the source code before compiling, then applying this patch should make it give a bit more information about exactly what it's trying and failing to create. Incorrect owner or permissions for the directories leper mentioned are probably the most likely causes. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
