Update Problem with Alpha 8

on the console when i type in sudo apt-get update i get

E: Type 'aunchpad.net/wfg/0ad/ubuntu' is not known on line 3 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/wfg-0ad-natty.list

E: The list of sources could not be read.

then when i type sudo apt-get install 0ad it says i already have the latest version but it still keeps it on alpha7

Hmm, most likely you've just written it manually and missed a letter, but in your post you write 'aunchpad.net/wfg/0ad/ubuntu'. If you've copied-and-pasted the above from your console however the error is an easy one, it's missing the 'l' in launchpad.net I'm guessing the error isn't that easy though

when downloading/installing/updating game i did it using the console commands it shows exactly like that but then anyways it still is missing the L even in the file location but its weird because in the file location it says

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/wfg/0ad/ubuntu natty main

deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/wfg/0ad/ubuntu natty main

aunchpad.net/wfg/0ad/ubuntu oneiric main # disabled on upgrade to oneiric

any ideas what the problem could be?

I don't understand what you exactly mean.

Could you please post all lines related to 0ad in /etc/apt/sources.list and the whole /etc/apt/sources.list.d/wfg-0ad-natty.list?

And please also tell us which version of Ubuntu you are using.
