tinoesroho
I was happy that 0 AD (From here on, 0 AD refers to the Alpha 3 release) ran on XP SP3 and Linux Mint 9 - making networked battles possible - but was less than joyful when attempting to play a networked game with my Windows 7 Home Premium x64 box.Can somebody kindly figure this out?Function call failed: return value was -1 (Function failed (no details available))Location: wsysdep.cpp:445 (sys_generate_random_bytes)Call stack:014A144F014A28B80147D4BB05EF01380003FF64errno = 0 (?)OS error = 0 (no error code was set)Function call failed: return value was -1 (Function failed (no details available))Location: wsysdep.cpp:445 (sys_generate_random_bytes)Call stack:014A144F014A28B80147D4BB05EF01380003FF64errno = 0 (?)OS error = 0 (no error code was set)
janwas
hm, we're not all too familiar with the Windows cryptography API (used in that function) and might be doing something wrong. First, can you indicate whether this was before or after SVN revision 8869?
Mythos_Ruler
I get a similar error when launching the Alpha III exe (I am on Windows 7 64-bit).Function call failed: return value was -1 (Function failed (no details available))Location: wdll_ver.cpp:61 (ReadVersionString)Call stack:002C144F002C28B80029D4BB0029D9CA0063E868errno = 0 (?)OS error = 0 (no error code was set)
Ykkrosh
can you indicate whether this was before or after SVN revision 8869?Yes:(From here on, 0 AD refers to the Alpha 3 release)Someone on IRC (skl_) reported the same error about six weeks ago, on Vista, but I didn't get any more information than that. fcxSanya
I get a similar error when launching the Alpha III exe (I am on Windows 7 64-bit).I have the same problem on Windows 7 x64, I tried Alpha II and Alpha III. It is working when I start game with "quickstart" parameter (Michael, try to run"Quickstart.bat" in binaries folder). Maybe this is related to some sound driver issues?Network game with 127.0.0.1 looks working without issues for me, so our problem probably not related to tinoesroho's one.
