Apomonomenos
Do I have to have a Mac to have this?

Kimball
I'm considering finding ways to port this to be available for Windows Vista as a gadget.
Apomonomenos
/sighI appreciate the fact that you guys are encouraging people to switch to Macs instead of Windows PCs, but can't there be one for Linux?
Kimball
Like I said, if I learn how to develop widgets and gadgets for other operating systems and find a way to test them, I'll release additional feed-based devices.Check out the Apple.com Mirror
julius1
well whats the difference between macs and windows?does it have better performance or something?
Kimball
The difference is the programming of the gadget/widget itself. Performance would be the same, but I'd end up redesigning the layout to fit in Vista's gadget sidebar, which is more linear. The difference here was my ability to develop and test a widget, since Mac is my primary OS.

MattSherman
There is some kind of widget converter here, not sure if it converts the Mac ones to thier yahoo widget engine but there is other useful information and tools to create them cross platform widgets. This might help if someone was interested. http://widgets.yahoo.com/tools/

Pianotamer
So you still haven't finished it yet. It was supposed to compete with AoE3, but of course that deadline was smashed as well. =PJust email me when you're finished. I'll probably have a few kids by then. Kimball
We're scheduled for an open source release very soon. The final release will likely compete with AoEV if ES follows through with their plans, although the time periods would be complete opposites..
