0AD will contain an editor, I read that, but is it also possible to make cinematics, like in AoM. If so how will it be done, with waypoints, like in AoM or something else?

And if it's possible, will the units look different in cinematic then in the normal mode, just like in AoM?

(sorry that I refer to AoM everytime, but I can't think of any other game :P )

The plan (and that's all we've got right now) is to use camera tracks similar to the method in AoM.

I'm not sure what you mean by making units "look different" in cinematics. If you mean have them fire off custom animations (eg throwing their arms around when they're talking, cheer, etc), then yes, we hope to try and do that.

They'll have animations, but no, they won't get a higher detailed model and texture like AoM did. Our single player campaign(s) won't be like AoM's where they had major characters and a plot, so there won't be much close-detail single-unit-talking stuff in the cinematics :P Also it's too much work to make a high detail model of alot of the units just for cinematics.
