You can't seriously expect the devs to take time off their regular development time in order to help you implement features they don't see fit the game. I think they've already been quite patient and helped you a little as well. But I think you're on your own. Could be just me who is cynical now, but I think you should nag them less, and over time you might get some useful hints.
Disclaimer: these are my own views, and I do not represent the development team in any way.

Ah, I forgot: congrats, and I hope you all will continue on this great quest - I have nothing valuable to contribute than my appreciation (and it may come out in a monetary form sometime later), so I'm counting on you guys (and gals?).
-
Heh, thought you would write "Please welcome our new programmer overlords", but that would perhaps be a wee bit over the top?
-
Since last time I replied to this thread, I've changed from Ubuntu to Fedora 13 - not the biggest change, I know.
I still have Windows XP for some stuff (a little gaming and music).
-
Heh, stats is nice, but please, no green backgrounds...
-
I think SMST's 'Colossus' suggestion is the best one so far.
-
Congrats; can't wait to try it!

Hei hei, morsomt å se flere som kommer fra Bodø, og driver med "musikk"! ;D
Funny coincidence we both come from Bodø, and make "music"! ;D
Can I ask what genre(s) you make music in?

Beautiful!

I've been using it the same way as you (SoD = black unexplored regions, FoW = grey previously-explored regions where you have only partial knowledge), and it looks like that's the way most people on the web use it, and we can define things to mean whatever we want within our own game, so I'll say you're right
Well, in all honesty, I've never used those expressions before, so sorry for the confusion - I think you're right.
-
I think SOD could be a little darker, though it's mostly because that's what I'm used to, not that it's a necessity.
Great work, as always.

Yay for the Lion King!

Well, makes more sense now; it's better to point directly at a feature and ask if it can be implemented instead of just linking to another game as if 0 A.D. should copy all of it.
And personally, I would first make a finished game, and then add the niceties instead of spending a lot more time and find all followers abandoned it in the meantime.
-
I don't see how this affects 0 A.D. in any way.
-
If we keep it simple, basically like a "random map script" selector, it could work. <snip>
I like that idea.

Will probably go defensive often, as my habit is, but try to variate a bit as well in order to make Alpha teh Beagle wonder what's next. ;P
-
Haha, don't worry, we all write stuff that doesn't come out as nicely as we wanted it to.
I just hope you'll stick with the community, even though we might have jumped a bit hard on you this time.
Peace and love, right?

uh, have none of you EVER played aom? (to those who couldnt understand what i said, its basicly saying the game reminds me too much of the norse gameplay in aom), mythos, i HAVE the alpha, Cobra, when did i display disrespect? Arthur, i figured as much because it said 'pre-alpha' when i read the game download, didn't it?
Question; Why such negativeness and asshollic response to me basicly saying 'it feels awkward playing the norse in aom in a new game'? i respect the game itself, as it is, maybe you guys have to learn to read more than half of the comment?
Well, if you figured as much, why are you judging and degrading an early Alpha version on its initial basic gameplay? It's like saying a house looks ugly before the outer panels, windows and stuff are built into it.
About the negativeness: I figure much of it comes because it's quite impossible to understand what you really mean/want to achieve with this post of yours.
-
Might help if you remove doubles (if any), but I suppose you've done so already.
-
Good point, Alpha.
-
You know you're playing an early alpha version, right? The workers continue on new trees in the current development version, so this is already in.
As for the rest of your comment: ???
-
Great work!
You're very good at positioning the camera to get nice screenshots.
-
Yeah, good work!

Your Ubuntu packaging seems to work perfect with Ubuntu 10.04. Thanks a lot!

Kimball et al, I thought you were working with the official game, and wondered whether this takes away manpower from the main factions/other aspects of the 0 A.D game. You see, this game has been in the making so long that we waiting for it don't want any slow-downs.
