Of the Heros of TLA:
There are two types of them in TLA. Leaders are more or less explained here. There are also editor-only heros similar to the ones in AoK. All of these are from the books BTW.
-
If you can't see a race, it means that section has not been completed yet. As of this point in time, only a few civ profiles have been finsihed.
-
@Rowan: I'll be honest with you.......... I suck with names.
I always have Yiuel make them up for me. BTW: what siege engines can the Goblins create and use?
-
@Rowan: Of course everyone gets a birthday thread.
The only reason you never got one before is because a year ago, the WFG as they are now didn't really exist yet.
-
I really don't think it's that necessary. Don't forget people tend to use other names to refer to forumers so the feature would only really work if you got all those bonus names as well.
-
Congrats on your 15th Birthday Rowan! (
Only 18 more years til you come of age now.
-
BTW Rowan: what are the siege capibilities of the Goblins since you created them? Will they be able to make at least catapults?

Out of sight of the Elves dealing with the main Goblin army, the two flanking Goblin hosts met each other to the rear of the Elven line. Once they met, they charged. The Elves were caught unawares upon seeing the Goblins charge them from behind. Before the Ninquendi got the chance to place a shield wall, the Goblins reached the rear with much less loss than what the main host was sufferring at the second shield wall. Meanwhile Goblin archers that followed in the wake of the two flanking hosts now surrounded the Elves on all sides as fired their arrows at the Ninquendi.
Seeing that the shield wall would not brake easily, the Goblins of the main host now turned their attention in flanking their enemy. Thus two more groups seperated from the main host to surround the Ninquendi, heading straight for the archangels.
-
Suddenly, hundreds of Goblin horns sounded as the entire army of Goblins charged the ranks of the Ninquendi. The sky became black with arrow fire as each side fired projectiles at each other. Great numbers of Goblins were killed trying to rush the Elven lines but the foul creatures kept advancing rapidly. The bowbladers had to retreat behind the shield wall as the Goblins plowed right into it. At first the Ninquendi spearmen were able to stay the Goblins but there was just too many of them and the wall broke. Still more Goblins were killed by the valour of the Elves but the overwhelming force managed to give losses to the Ninquendi as well.
Thus the Ninquendi were ever pushed back towards the bridge. Unknown to the Elves however until too late was that two Goblin hosts seperated from the main army which was ever so slowly surrounding their enemy.

Well, I am the evilist person here and currently not doing much in the RPT (or anything else for that matter). I might as well control the Goblins this time, though they will not be affiliated with any of my other characters.

I'll have more time, I'll write a big post about both Rekiger's discovery of a palantír and Dunumij's coming in the Dyr.
Speaking of that, one of my guys is on your doorstep with one of the palantiri. Care to let him in so he can give it to Qem so he can safeguard it.?

Ost-i-Aer
Some time after the small war with the Dyr, Barahir got a curious message from Kshazomuth. unlike other messengers of the Empire, the one that came to Barahir was hidden and cloaked in black. He was actually an Avari Elf from the Sanctuary doing a favor for Nolpandil, but Barahir did not know at all.
The mysterious messenger gave Barahir a letter. After reading it, Barahir had it burned. The next day after making preparations, Barahir along with his personal bodyguard sailed to Laguseld while a regent was left behind on Tol Thin to manage affairs. Where Barahir rode after that he did not say but only himself, his bodyguard, and his regent knew his ultimate destination, which was beyond the western borders of Kshazomuth's reach.

hmm...maybe i can get Elegon to go retrieve the Osgiliath stone, inspired by a vision... it will allow a break in his story for the battle of turfolin, and provide him with a stone to control the lesser stones
The Master stones don't really control the lesser stones. They just did not require positioning like the minor stones did.
-
That's right, Kshazomuth's men are not evil at heart like those of Sauron or Eonwe. See, about time you realized that land grab didn't get you far, but you should be suprised I forgave you quite easily and stopped at your borders.
-
I also vote permanent. However, I think allowing resources to regenerate if not being used up would be very great. (
-
Thus was the invasion from the Dyr ceased, and with barely any cost to Kshazomuth's Empire at all. The Hithrim were so overconfident that they failed to think Kshazomuth's Empire could muster so large a force. Thus were they routed and driven back to whence they came with much casualties. Barahir was thankful that not much of his Men died, and also that the Hithrim were kind enough not to sack the cities they were allowed to take as he was busy musterring his armies.
Seeing now the Dyr were now driven back, Barahir ordered that none of his Men should invade that land, for they were only misguided. The real Enemy and the one who probably organized this was the Dark Lord Eönwë in the eyes of Kshazomuth's Men. However, Barahir had forts made all along the borders with the Dyr, and Watchers were selected from the ranks of the Forest-men of Kshazomuth and their closest ally, the remaining Druedain of Middle-earth to guard the borders as well. They were ordered to kill any of the Hithrim who dared cross the border, as well as any falcons sighted.
Thus was the two parts of the Dyr unable to communicate with each other, for now Kshazomuth's Men now barred the only ways to and from the two areas. Barahir sent a message to the leaders of the Hithrim saying that this Ban will only be lifted if they give up all claims to the land seperating the Dyr in two. Once they agreeed to do so, all overland and sea travel would be tolled heavily as to provide reperations for the unjustified attack until relations were deemed improved enough to life the toll.
While these events were occuring, yet another nasty rumor orginating in secret from Morgoth's spies and from Kshazomuth's Men now spead like wildfire. Much of the peoples of Eofenwendil and Rekiger as well as some in the Dyr itself now got the idea that through unknown means, Eönwë was the one who managed to fool the Hithrim into attacking Kshazomuth in hopes of making the Free People's divided and weaker. And thus the anger in the populance of Eofenwendil and the Dyr towards Eönwë grew even more, but Rekiger like usual remained neutral. It became apparent that the only solution to quell this hatred now was to wage war aganist the Cursed One......
-
Amy's right. Kshazomuth's people are NOT evil at heart (only Kshazomuth is). BTW: Check the latest map Mironir so you know there are cities in the area. And if an invasion can be conducted that fast, it's defeat will surely be just as fast.
-
To be honest, you said nothing at all that said that Eönwë takes his seeing stone with him so it was not obvious at all. Usually, palantiri are not meant to be traveled around with unless something happens to the place which it was housed in. And honestly, can't you just accept the fact that your precious palantir is gone and try to recover it instead of making up a whole bunch of nonsense in an effort to cancel it out? It shouldn't be that hard....... <_

Interesting idea you have there but IMO, it would make the forums somewhat more disorderly seeing that quite a few topics were moved. Methinks it won't help our public image that much.

Northern Seaway
Lerian was sailing the Seaway still posessing the palantír of Eönwë. For something the Cursed One used much, his attempts at getting it back were notriously pathetic at best. He was so deep in his thoughts that he failed to see his boat head into a fogbank. However, once he snapped out of his thoughts, he noticed a small boat like his sailing towards Eonwendil going through the fog as to not get the attention of the blockade of Sauron. He followed the ship until it landed on the coast, and he followed suit. it was with great suprise to Lerian that the person that landed was no other than.......
Lerian: Well, if it isn't my sister Arielle. What brings you to the land of the Cursed One?
Arielle: I'm also glad to see you thanks...And it's none of your business...
Lerian: Surely you didn't come to defect to his cause? Speaking of, I happened to meet some of our former freinds on my voyage, and they are more pathetic than they ever have been. It would be unfortunate if you decided to join those fools.
Arielle: As I said, it's none of your business. What brings YOU here ?
Lerian: I am just on a simple task of burglery if you must know, for my Master no less.
Arielle signaled to the others to finish hiding the boat, to go take their posts and leave them alone. Eresan stayed a bit with her, but seeing that she wouldn't change her mind, he left her alone.
Arielle: And I assume it was sucessful?
Lerian: I am always successful. You can see the results if you'll just fulfill the simple task of stating your business. Don't forget, we may have different beliefs but we are still brother and sister.
Arielle: Strictly spying mission. For a client of ours. Checking the numbers of soldiers and such. Nothing much, nothing we can't handle. Who were our old friends you encountered?
Lerian: No other than Kwoad and Danker, those who turned their backs on Melkor. They blindly assumed that I would believe their lies just so they can retreive what their Master lost. And they foolishly believe that they were successful.
Arielle: I'll be careful of them. Thanks for telling me. So, is that a palantir that you carry ?
Lerian: *takes it out* How ever did you know? You still have sharp eyes it seems. *laughter*
Arielle: Perhaps. So, how is Thuringwethil doing? Has she recovered?
Lerian: Yes she's quite fine physically. Mentally, she'll kill you the first chance she gets, after what happened......... *glares*
Arielle: Anything to annoy Sauron. You know me, I could have done alot worse than that to her. Should I have wanted, she wouldn't have had the chance to flee that prison...
Lerian: Very well, I can't be bothered now to press the issue further. I just have three things for you. The guards of this land will now be more alert thanks to me, take a trip to those Black Sea havens to find proof that the Usurper's ships did attack Eofenwendil, and this. *hands Arielle a map of Eonwendil, showing all fortresses* Now I must depart, for my task isn't finished.
Arielle: Even though we're not exactly best friends anymore, I wish you the best of luck. Take care of yourself please. And thanks for the map.
Arielle squeezed his arm with one hand before turning her back on him and joining the others. She didn't look behind her, not once. Her nightmare hadn't come true and she was really glad her brother was okay, even though she didn't show it.
Lerian left the Hunters and got back on his ship. Seeing there was no further point in sailing the coastline, Lerian instead landed on the Savana coast and made the rest of his trip overland, still with the seeing stone. At the northern border dividing Sauron and Eofenwe's lands, Sauron's border guards allowed him to pass north. In Eofenwendil he avoided being seen by its inhabitants and thus made it to his destination, the entrance into Rekiger.

Oh, in answer to Yiuel's inquieries on what writing I used for "Rekiger", I used Qokok (knowledge donated from that chuckling Elf of course).
-
Poor BO, he is so helpless in front of me
.
Please........ just because you have the ability to learn and create languages and alphabets and I don't dosen't mean I am helpless.
-
Why.......... yes it does.
Being moved now.

But as soon as Kwoad and Danker left his line of sight, he sailed back to Eonwendil. Upon landing, he went back to the place where he felt their presence. There was a bag which contained the true palantír, unknown to either the two of the Usurper's servants.
In Lerian's mind, he saw Kwoad and Danker as the two most pathetic servants he ever saw. No wonder why they were poorly treated by his Master, and thus defected. They thought that by issuing forth lies, they could easily retreive the real palantír but little did they know they would get exactally what apparently wished for, since Lerian brought a fake seeing stone with him in case of capture. And so he contuined on his journey, after looking in the palantír. He knew this did not have any recorded images but was reality.
Soon Lerian was on his boat again, sailing just offshore of Eonwendil out of range of any of it's weapons as yet another method of taunting. Any ships sent to recover the palantír would be utterly destroyed by Sauron's blockade.
All non-Morgoth forces lacking unique units?
in General TLA Discussion
Posted
Now, where to begin? Ah yes.....
Let's not forget that sadly, Orc troops are vastly inferior in quality to anything unit the other civs can conjure up. Therefore, if facing an enemy army the same size and with no uber units nearby to help, expect the Orcs to get slaughtered. This means that for Orcs to actually be good, you'll always have to keep their numbers much higher than your enemy. Now that will be a strain in Morgoth's "pocket book", considerring their method of gatherring resources is the least efficent of all the civs in TLA.
In actuallity, the Eagles was basically a dres-ex machina that helped get individual characters out of nasty jams. They only showed up when the good side was on the verge of defeat, and never once did anyone in Middle-earth (except for Gandalf) ever ask the Eagles for help. Rather, they decided to assist the Free Peoples when they wished. At the best, I can only see Eagles in TLA as a gaia unit that is hostile to any FoM unit that is near it's territory, which someone could take advantage of.
Note that a player can only use one Leader at a time. And each civ only has three Leaders to choose from.
