  1. Yes, Jesus did die for our sins. Even if you are forgiven your wrong actions have consequences. You still need to make up for those for those your sins have hurt. This is also why Catholics believe in an "indulgence". I know this word conjures up images of the Church "selling" indulgences, but basically an indulgence is an act done to make up for those consequences. Protestants (I use the term loosely for non-Catholics and non-Orthodox) have this notion that Jesus forgives our sins, but completly ignores the concequeces.

    Jesus is faithful to forgive us our sins, but only if we repent. There are consequences, and if you look into the book of Samuel, you will find that King David lost his son because of his sin, even though he repented.
