  1. Klaas: What does AFAIK mean?

How would you know it's not painful? You just said your grandfather was unconscious. It is very painful. The process is as follows:

First, come the hunger pangs. Beyond that, the skin, lips, and tongue crack. The nose bleeds, as mucous membranes dry out. Vomiting follows, as the stomach lining dries out. as the linings dry out, stomach acid eats the stomach, and eventually the other organs. Blood pressure drops, the heart rate rises, and physical extremeties become cold, as circulation is redirected to internal organs to maintain their function.

Now, that can hardly seem peaceful or elegant!

As for the PVS, like I said, her mother, brother, and sister claimed that she was conscious and alert. She could not talk well or eat on her own. That is not a reason to murder her. I don't know if you want proof from the people who wanted her dead, or will her own family do??? But, even if she was in PVS, does that cease to make her human?

As for Michael's affair, he didn't try to hide it. I'm suprised that you don't know about it.

But on to the subject at hand... Terri never wrote that it was her wish to die, and her family knew that she didn't. Not only that, but Mr. Shiavo never mentioned her "wishes" until 7 years after her injury! Now THAT is odd, isn't it? Why would he wait till then?
