Borders have weights, so the stronger the adversary, the more it gains on your territory, which I think makes sense.

I did not mean the ban on the expansion of borders. The boundaries continue to expand as the city develops. I would like that when expanding the boundaries could freely pass one through the other, and not crowd out one another. This means that I could build on someone else's territory within my border and another player could build their buildings on the part of my territory intersected by his building area.

You can finally make the borders around the main buildings perfectly round.

  2. Hello! Could the developers slightly rethink the system of national borders and make them "incompressible"? The problem is that when an ally reaches a new stage of the city, it captures the territory that was previously under my control with its borders. So, I want to suggest that you consider the border system from Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars and make the borders overlap each other. Then these strange "loops" on the ground will not form and my buildings will no longer create "bubbles", falling under the expansion of the allied border.

You can use "last survivor" setting aswell, so that only one player may win...

Shouldn't this function automatically break an existing union? I didn't know it worked like that. Thanks for the tip. However, this is not entirely intuitive. Normally, this function always breaks relations between the last surviving allies.

some kind of endless gamemaybe only interrupted by having defeated everyone else.

In fact, this allows you to train well against very difficult AI in the late stages of the game with all the units and buildings. You yourself during the game determine when the AI should become aggressive. In Age of Empires 2, where you could start from the post-imperial era, it works. But in this game, there is no way to start with a fully developed civilization.

Why dont you use the feature "last survivor"?

Since we are talking about this feature, it would be nice if the inscription that the last player wins did not hang on the screen all the time.

  4. Periodically, the AI player will offer to establish a neutral relationship, however, this offer lasts for about 5 seconds. I just don't have time to go to the diplomacy menu and click on the neutral attitude, and the AI already refuses to enter into neutrality. Could the developers give more time or do it like in Age of Empires 2?

    1. AI requests neutrality with a sound and after about 30-60 seconds sends a message about the last chance to conclude neutrality with it.

    2. When changing an alliance to neutrality or enemy relations, the AI should send two warnings to the player demanding to return the allied relations.

    3. Even if the AI became hostile to the player after breaking diplomacy, then when the player requests an alliance or neutrality, the AI does not always refuse and may accept the offer for tribute or just like that.

And in this game, the rejection of neutrality makes the AI an enemy forever.

Just use the ceasefire feature ?

This is not exactly what is needed. The ceasefire is running out for everyone at the same time. I want to be able to choose my opponent from allies myself, without reference to time. It's just interesting to see how the AI starts to behave if two of its allies start to fight each other. The problem is that starting a map where all players are initially allies, leads to an automatic victory and the transition to observer mode with the loss of access to diplomacy.

  6. In Age of Empires 2, it was possible to set all players to one team before the start of the game, and then, during the game, declare war on the allies. Could the developers cancel the automatic win if all players initially start on the same team? It would also be good to establish neutrality before the start. But in general, it would be great in the advanced diplomacy menu to have the ability to establish each player his diplomatic relations with others before the start of the game.

I think this would be caused by out of ram error or missing a turn, something along that line. Note that 0AD can only take advantage of at most 4GB of ram on Windows, so it's very likely crash if you play prolonged games or on large maps.

The solution is to reboot or install a Linux.

As I already wrote, the game, as a rule, works fine for an hour or more. If the map was generated "unlucky", then game crashed during the first 5-10 minutes. But yes. Reboot helped. But only until next time. I usually use over-average maps for 4 players and they are generally stable.

Is it reproducible or random / does it happen every time when you place a field with britons, or did it just happen once? Do other civ behave differently?

No. A new battle with the same Britons went perfectly smoothly. However, much earlier, a similar error appeared when playing Mauryas on the Ambush map (a lot of narrow paths surrounded by very high hills). And again, a new map with the Mauryas on the same terrain ran smoothly.

I think this is a generator glitch that generates a bad template. Because in the case of the Mauryan breakdown, the created map then seemed to me extremely "gut-like". This time, the breakdown occurred on individual islands.

  9. 1. It would also be nice to add a "marshland" biome to randomly generate maps in daylight and nighttime. It would be interesting to look at a randomly generated map of swampy islands in the ocean.

    2. And it would not be bad to give the opportunity to disable the recording of the game.

    3. And also add an automatic save function after a specified number of minutes.

  10. Playing as Rome, I was very surprised that the hastati had no main weapon - throwing spears. How about adding interchangeable weapons? Or, if not, then I see this battle like this: hastati begin their attack by throwing several spears at the enemy, after which the ranged attack skill would be recharged for 30-60 seconds, during which time the hastati would attack with a gladius. How do you like it? But, of course, it would be better for me to choose the type of attack myself.

  11. Why not remake the mobile aquatic fauna in accordance with the Age of Empires III, making instead of unit-whales a simple stationary animation of a whale, where food will be collected? This will also reduce the number of objects on the map and reduce game slowdowns.

although that might lead to many entities, as buildings are entities (AFAIK).

There is another option - to make two borders for "sticking" buildings: one border - back to back, the other - at a distance of "one tower". Then the tiles for the indent will not be needed. Or make a switch for a visible "grid of coordinates", where each cell could be in area like a tower, where it will be possible to place buildings, "sticking" to the squares on the grid.

  13. I have a big request! Make the texture of the banyan tree more transparent, as the algorithm plants banyans so that they turn into an impenetrable wall, like an impenetrable forest from the second Age of Empires. I understand that the banyan tree consists of a bunch of aerial roots, but look, you can walk here!

    Spoiler

  14. Since casual strategy players often like to build beautiful cities for fun, there is a need to separate buildings and create smooth passages between them, I would like to ask the developers to add at least one small marble tile with a passable texture to the list of buildings and with a texture area like that of a sentry towers, which can easily separate one building from another at the same distance. In the description, it will be possible to say that this tile is nothing more than a decorative object. Naturally, tiles should be available from the earliest era and be able to "stick" to other tiles and buildings or objects.

What do you say to that?

Good luck finding any good art or images for Pataliputra...

Why don't your graphic designers adopt the experience of the Age of Empires and "compose" a normal Indian palace from fragments of Indian architecture typical of that place and time? That's what those black and white shots and sketches were added for. This is the first. Secondly, I find the area of "unique buildings" too varied. Why not rebuild all "unique buildings" so that they occupy some standard area for all nations?

  16. You really should add the Mesoamericans. This should add more audiences from Brazil and Mexico. I'm not sure that the Scythians or the next Greeks will interest someone. It is necessary how to do like Microsoft - to add the most "selling" regions, squeezing out investments from local patriots.:P
