  1. The AVATAR soundtrack is fantastic.

You have got to be kidding me. Don't get me wrong, great film. But Horner is capable of way more than that. The score to avatar was a cut and paste formulaic hollywood poo fest. Clearly he half assed this one... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder yes, however please listen to his other work and then tell me he worked hard on this...

  2. maybe try compatibility mode?

  3. Hello there.

    :)

Without hijacking this thread. I would like to ask for some assistance. I recently cut all my ties to the Microsoft and PC world. I am currently trying to operate 0A.D. on my Macpro (nehalem 8 core) I am new to the world of mac and getting the game to build is quite overwhelming.

In the spirit of contributing to 0AD, if there were a kind soul who has already gotten 0AD to build and run on their mac, It would be greatly appreciated if you could spend some time with me on MSN or Phone and possibly get me up and running.

Please drop me a PM in the forums if you can help.

    Sincerely,

  4. Vista on both my laptop and tower. Vista came with my laptop, but I upgraded from XP on my tower. Downloaded Vista Ultimate on my tower months before the actual OS released. Didn't need a CD key, and I bypass all Windows Genuine Checks flawlessly. Yeah...I kick that much @#$%. I own a pirated copy of Vista, but it's 100% legit.

Maybe on MSN you can show me a thing or two about this. I need to get vista set up on my macpro, in order to use some audio software I need for work.

  5. Wow guys, I got this game not too long ago and I am completely hooked. I mean within the little time I have for recreation these days, I like to bang out a round in an RTS or FPS game. Multiwinia is truely addictive and totally stratagy based. I got it during the holidays when Steam was doing those mega sales. Think it cost 3.99 or something at the time for both games. Anyways if you havent check it out!

  6. Hey guys I just wanted to show everyone this webseries I have been working on. The first episode was released yest/this morning. Here's a blurb:

GEEKS UNDERGROUND is a new 8 episode comedy web series that involves four geeks, a maniacal computer bent on world domination, and a girlfriend that wants nothing but to shake things up.

Andy (Shayne Devouges) comes back from three years of university to his home town with his girlfriend Nikki (Corie-Anne Gonyer) and decides to meet up with his old friends, Trevor (Samuel Chan) and Neil (Nico Racicot). Only when he gets back not all is well as they’ve replaced him with someone they call Silent Dennis (Marco Pennino). What happens when friendships are put to the test, adventures are had, bullies are faced, addictions take hold, girls come into the mix, and M.A.L. (voice by Andrew Searles) sits idly by planning his world domination?

I came on board for this project fairly late in the game. I was only involved as a sound recordist for parts of ep6 however I am doing sound design / editing and the final mix for all of the episodes.

I quite enjoy it and find the characters very funny. The rest of the season is hilarious, hope you enjoy.

  7. I hate hippies who wail over dead trees, but I like the environment, but throwing rocks at soldiers who were DRAFTED into the army doesn't make sense. It wasn't their fault.

Ok several statements here. Firstly I agree with you, throwing rocks at soldiers = bad / stupid, its not thier fault they are / were owned by big brother.

Second, those particular hippies crying over the trees, yes its disturbing, I think they might have some screws lose. However as a lover of nature and cultivator of trees, I would have preferred your statement to go something around the lines of "I hate THESE hippies" because some others that you may refer to as "hippies" are pretty darn cool and not nutball tree whiners who are against the war. sorry, had to say something here

  8. However, do you use features which aren't in Free Software alternatives? Ie. GIMP or Blender etc.

I mean, choice is yours, I'm just curious.

Any pro level software let it be audio, video or graphic art based, is not going to be free. Gimp and blender are great programs that offer a lot of promise however when you get into things on a professional level, such as audio and video for example it comes down to file formats and compatibility. Freeware / open source audio software will not open industry standard file formats such as .pts / .ptf or .omf. Some are starting however to offer .xml based sessions however we are not there yet.

Notice I am staying out of the OS battle. I personally have a couple of PCs and a G5 MAC, I prefer to work on the pc, (personal choice, and software restricted) until I can get an intel based mac. But when the PC goes down... guess which system is always running without fail? ... hurts to say it but yup, the mac.
