  1. 'Love' is just an all-positive word. Just know less people saying "I desire you!" when they're trying to express their feelings. And honestly "I love it soo much, could you give it to me?" sounds much better than "I want that thing, gimme that!"

I think most words getting replaced by 'love' are 'like', 'desire' and 'want'. I've to admit, I also use it, but not in every situation. If things are more serious I really avoid that word and begin to dislike it cause it's just something like a hidy-hole for the real meaning.

  2. Atheist (in common language) - actually I'm believing in reality, me and the medium science, even if I also dislike them somehow. It's proven that even atheists or people in general tend to believe in anything.

I never really believed in any god, I just had/have some idols - 'real people' - for different aspects of life. Recently - approx. 3 weeks ago I resigned officially from church. If I didn't, I'd have to pay church taxes in germany and since I'm quite economical and also atheistic I just did it.

My view of religions is very critical, I just dislike the whole thing, especially Christianity or Islam, exaggerated and apodictical, at odd times without any reason - in my opinion the existence of the possibility to seduce simple minds is a dangerous factor in this world. Religions give answers for things people can not understand and probably never will. It seems to me that they just can't accept this fact, being limited. I do and I also believe in myself and I won't lie to myself just to be happy. Nevertheless I support the aspect of health or care of religions. It's important that unsteady, people without self-confidence get care from other people, I just question the means.

  3. Yo hey, just wanted to 'link back' ^^

    Hastatus.png

A Roman Hastatus I made for my AoE3 modding project 'The Ancient Age' (which still has a lack of textures and texturers..). Even if your Tutorial was just about basics and not aoe3-specific I just wanted to say thanks, it was a nice introduction for me. :)

What actually happened to 'The Haven'? Liked the idea of a "texturer community" since I don't know any.

  4. Well, AoK just shortened the term of destruction. It's not the 1:1 reality, but still a realistic symbol, I didn't really have a problem with it. ^^

But yeah, realistic 1:1 damage would of course be something I'd support. Raiding with style :)

  5. It's not pedophile (I'm not Peter File! ^^) having children in wars. It's real and I dunno how many people would say that wars are pedophile. War are never 'phile', never friend of anyone, everyone gets killed.

I'd only like them to be in as passive, ambient undestroyable units.

  6. Well yeah I know, no purpose, though in the Ancient Cretan civilisation under king Minos children worked as slaves. It's where the Ancient Greek word 'o pais' (= the child, the slave, the worker) derived from.

As far as for killing all those children, I'm kinda @#$%ed up so I don't care personally, like killing a child is much different from killing a woman.

You got a good point. I agree to that.

Nevertheless feneur is also right, you'd need to give them a role and just giving Hellenes children is also weird .. somehow, it'll look like Romans, Celts and Persians had no children. Another possibility would be children as non-destroyable ambient, but if you include that, the game needs more of it to be still authentic and that's a lot of work, tho I'd love it.

If they'd be part of active happening, I'd give them a basic role in view of unit production. They get older and when they reached a certain age you can recruit them or let them work. That'd give the unit production also a passive aspect. But that's not all, you still need more for that to get it working. Population Growth and all factors which influence it and this would give the game of course another character. Reminds me somehow of the Total War Series where the mood and situation of your people in towns played an important role. I've no idea what the current unit training system is, but I admit that changing it to this what I said would be pretty much work.

Nevertheless I'd really like to see more ambient activity, more passive events. That'd give the whole game a pretty unique character without changing the active systems, cause besides the possibility to show your knowledge of realism in the ancient times, it's a cool gameplay feature which is not existent in many games with that theme.

  7. No, it's turkish of course and I don't understand a word (but who really cares, the music kicks -uh?censored- youknowwhatImean). ^^ Got a tip from a turkish mate.

    The Navajo Project with 'Focus'

(I'm confused, how are you writing them here? Track - Artist looks strange...)

  8. If I may offer a suggestion regarding the completion of 0 A.D., i've seen other developers/modders post a progress meter or counter for their work. Of course it couldn't be 100% accurate but it might stifle all the "WHEN'S IT DONE!?" posts. Such a meter can be proken up by phases of the work, maybe even a single progress bar with assorted colors per phase (like the Windows defrag progress bar uses color to show file types).

Of course, this is how mods usually do it. I'm in the modding community of Age Of Empires III and in our section we've a so called Mod Database. If you click on the link you can see images for every different state of progress. What I suggest for 0 A.D. is a similar method just for every big field/aspect of the game, for example a progress bar for Textures, Research, Coding, Planning etc.
