  1. I just finished a game by resigning after I had carefully destroyed even any remaining Gaia buildings. I then had ten Cav scour the map looking for whatever I'd missed: nothing. When I checked the stats after resigning, it turned out, as near as I can tell, that Green still had a fishing boat somewhere in the vast sea of Corsica/Sicily. As near as I can tell, remaining humans are neutralized once all their buildings are gone, so you don't have to track down every last remaining foot soldier to win the game. I can see making me track down triremes, but fishing boats?

    Tried using the 0ad repo?

    Actually, that's how I broke it in the first place. The Software Center wouldn't install v21 until after I had installed it directly and then uninstalled. The two glitches both continue, and they can be fixed by 1. clicking Continue and 2. pressing Alt-enter as if we were in Window mode. however, true Window mode (press Alt-Enter again) gives a true, four boundaried window.

  3. I installed with apt-get, and got v21 again. However, when the white panel with the error message came up, I noticed a "continue" button, clicked it, and v21 is running.

    ==========

    The first time I ran it, the launchbar and top status line remained on-screen, and the 0ad screen would not scroll up or left in response to the mouse (had to move w/arrow keys, but they DID NOT work for down and right!). It also ran veerrry slowly. It took more than five minutes to load a Giant map, and everything was choppy and jerky.

    The second time I ran it, the screen was OK (after "continue"), speed was Ok, but the app icon was gone. When I locked it to the launchbar, all I got was a grey box with a ? on it.

    I'm way over my head; maybe some else knows what's happening?

  4. I've been playing 0ad 20 on Ubuntu 16.04. I upgraded to 21, and when I try to run the game, the following happens:

    1. I get an error message:

    Assertion failed: 'logicalPerPackage % maxCoresPerPackage== 0"

    Location: topology.cpp:105 (MaxLogicalPerCore)

    2. The screen greys down and the computer hangs. Re-booted.

    3. The third time, I noticed that I had a full-screen window labelled 0 a.d. with no content. I clicked the close button, and the hang ended.

    I tried uninstalling 0 a.d. with the software manager, rebooting, and re-installing. The SM showed that it was installing v 21. Once it was installed, the same thing happened.

    I'm going to try manually deleting any residual files after another uninstall.

    I may need to re-install v 20. Is that possible?

    ================

    Uninstall doesn't seem to leave anything behind. I looked in usr/bin for 0ad, pathenogenesis, and wildfire. Nothing there. I'm going to try to reinstall v 20.

  5. The Mill doesn't, is what I'm saying. Farmsteads produce the same and the amount the farmer can gather remains the same, whether there is a Farmstead or not. It is also unchanged by the First Plow. The Second Plow increase the gather amount. Does Farming Rate mean speed? With the Forage/Mining sites and upgrades, the amount increases. Most notably, it doesn't seem to matter where you put your farms. They get the Farmstead bonuses anywhere on the board.

  6. I just experimented to confirm this.

    Being near a gather site has no effect on crop size or gather rate. Upgrading the site to first plow also has no effect. And building the mill not only has no effect, but the mill is not a gather point.

    Incidentally, the link to the bug report forum does not work, and the Important, Read this first link gives a 404 error.

    Love the game anyway.

  7. I'm still trying to figure out what some of the score elements refer to. Recently I resigned on an early game and my 'feminization' score was 100%. Now I know that at least half of my population was male, so whaaa? I assume that the "vegetarian" score is a sign of some positive thing, because everybody who outscores me has a significantly higher "vegetarian" score. And yet as I examine the screen, it doesn't appear that the "high veg" folks have that many more farms than I do. The "barter" scores don't seem to have anything to do with markets or traders. I always run at least 3 traders and my barter score is always 0. In a recent game, I had 5 of my 10 siege rams convert to the enemy control; I presume that makes them "lost" rather than killed; but when "lost" and "killed" are generally within a few percent of the same number, that's not very clear. Can someone point me to a discussion of the score data?

  8. I just finished a game by resigning because it wouldn't stop after I eliminated every opposing piece on the board. The resignation score reported that one of my opponents had 237 infantry, of which 243 were "lost" and 245 were "killed." No idea what the distinction is between lost and killed, but he didn't HAVE 240 infantry. The same sort of weird math errors occur in the other tallies. This has been consistent in every game I have resigned. Incidentally, there doesn't seem to be any way to see your score except by resigning.
