The game speed is indeed an issue atm; not that it should be very fast, but like aom speed (aok/c speed was too slow!).

Would you guys host it? I hate third party hosts like Voobly and stuff. Also, I really think that you should have an ELO rating system. This does NOT limit other players, since they can still play unrated or do scenarios or whatever. It is a must for competitive play however!

That's true and I am not a big fan of flash either. I just meant I am not good with graphics and that kind of stuff since there are all kinds of new tricks that I have had a hard time keeping up with (I can create a site in html and format it cleanly, but I only know Java and some C# (unfortunately very little C++, since for some reason my CS teacher was more of a fan of Java
), and the way I learned it was for Comp Science, hence the lack of graphic design/web design experience

Oh alright, ty for the info. I stink at making websites cuz I grew up learning old school html and never bothered to learn flash or anything to make em look shiny ;P

Alright, I am just curious about this so I am by no means saying I could make it or pay for it, but: how much effort/how much money do you think it would take/cost to make an online matchmaking service similar to ESO (preferably the ESO for AoM as it is the best interface and is simple). I am a big fan of the ELO rating system and I think having your own server/matchingmaking service to regulate would make the game better as cheaters could be dealt with easily and feedback could be given to you more readily.
I do know some languages (java, c# and some c+ as well as html(not really a language)) so I could help if needed. I also know people who do stuff for AoM mods who are very good with this kind of stuff. The ELO rating could be based on something like this: Fropco ESO
Just and idea and looking forward to see what ya'll think.

. The game as it is now, "0 AD," is incorrect. It should really be "0 CE" as in Common Era (even though 0 is technically not in CE or BCE haha.) -
Will the graphics themselves receive a makeover before it is released. Meaning, is this current alpha stage like a low option for graphics and a higher option would be available later?

I have been playing RTS games forever and I must say that you should really look into have a centralized multiplayer for 0A.D. with an ELO system of rating. I really STRONGLY urge that you do this, to attract high level gamers as well as those who want competitive play.
