  1. Hi! For the Macedonians, I propose this wonder: the Funeral Pyre of Hephaestion. A gigantic funeral pyre, it was built by Alexander the great, on the occasion of the funeral of its companions (and lover) Hephaestion, dead in Ectabana in the 324 B.C. The pyre was sixty metres high, square in shape and built in stepped levels. The first level was decorated with two hundred and forty ships with golden prows, each of these adorned with armed figures with red banners filling the spaces between. On the second level were torches with snakes at the base, golden wreaths in the middle and at the top, flames surmounted by eagles. The third level showed a hunting scene, and the fourth a battle of centaurs, all done in gold. On the fifth level, also in gold, were lions and bulls, and on the sixth the arms of Macedon and Persia. The seventh and final level bore sculptures of sirens, hollowed out to conceal a choir who would sing a lament. It is possible that the pyre was not burnt, but that it was actually intended as a tomb or lasting memorial; if so, it is likely that it was never completed, as there are references to expensive, uncompleted projects at the time of Alexander's own death. For more information on the structure of the Pyre, http://books.google....estione&f=false

  2. For the Spartan, I propose this wonder: The Sanctuary of Artemis Orthia. It was one of the most important religious sites in the Greek city of Sparta. The cult of Orthia was common to the four villages originally constituting Sparta: Limnai, Pitana, Kynosoura and Mesoa. The Sanctuary was founded in the 10th century B.C. and at the beginning was not monumental since it was a temenos consisted of only one altar in the open air. At the end of the 9th century B.C. this older altar was replaced by a larger one, this time built with stones. The first temple having stone foundation was constructed in the middle of the 8th century B.C. The temple suffered great destruction caused by flood at the beginning of the 6th century B.C. but soon after was built again.

    The large Archaic temple which is preserved until our days , was constructed at that time. The temple consists of cella and pronaos with two doric columns at the East side. A significant restoration of the temple and the altar was done probably at the beginning of the 2nd century B.C. Finally, during the 3rd century A.D. (after 225 A.D.) the Roman horse-shoe shaped amphitheatre was built in front of the temple, while the temple itself was probably restored. The amphitheatre was intended to facilitate the people attending the sacred ceremonies that were taking place inside the temple, in favour of the godess. At the same time they built another oblong altar but a bit closer to the temple. A facade of the Temple relief is represented in the Stele of Xenokles. 4. I propose this technology:

    "Hunting Dogs": Once researched, the technology improves Food hunting gather rate;

    "Irrigation": after "Iron plog"improves after Farm gather rate;

    "Flood control": after "Irrigation" improves Farm gather rate;

    "Boiling oil": removes building minimum firing range;

    "Burning Pitch": Archers and Arrow Ships damage x3 vs buildings; Archers damage x1.5 vs ships; Arrow ships +15% attack; Ballistae +20% attack;

    "Naval Ram" (only Hellenes/Romans/Hellenistics civs): Bireme, Trireme and Quinquereme can be driven into the hull of an enemy ship in order to puncture the hull and sink, or at least disable, that ship;

    "Bow saw": after "Iron Axe" improves Wood gather;

    "Carpenters" after "Bow saw" improves Wood gather;

    "Ballista Tower": the Tower can deal more damage against enemies;

    "Sacred Cats" (only egyptians) : laborers farm faster by 20%;

    "Shaduf" (only egyptians): Farms build faster and cost less;

    "Nobility": all hit points of Cavalry units (except elephants) are increased by 15%;

    "Architecture": It improves hit points of all buildings, excluding walls, by 20% and, decreases the time needed to construct a building by 33%;

    "Polytheism": It increases the speed of the Priest by 40%;

    "Mysticism" the hit points of the Priest doubles;

    "Juggernaut (Jagannath)" (only maurya): Increase attack and range of Medium Yudhpot (eventually will be equiped with a catapult);

    "Aristocracy": the speed of champion units is increased by 25%;

    "Ballistics": It improves the accuracy of missile units and buildings (like archer, javeliner, war navy and tower);

    "Logistics" all units trained at the Barracks take up half of a population slot instead of the usual 1;

    "Tower Shield" (only romans): Triarii, Hastates and legionaries can make testudo formation. Testudo improves the piercing armor of infantry by 1 point;

    "Herbal Medicine" : Units garrisoned in buildings heal four times faster;

    "Philosopy" (only hellenes civs): Reduces upgrades research time at Buildings;

    "Ashlar Masonry" (only hellenes civs): improves health buildings;

    "Agoge discipline" (only Spartans): Reduces training time of Infantry,Ranged, and Cavalry;

    "Corvus" (only Romans): Quinquereme with this military boarding device pierce the enemy ship's deck when the boarding-bridge was lowered. This allowed a firm grip between the vessels and a route for thelegionaries to cross to the other ship.

  5. Hi! I propose:

    1) For the Roman's Faction Symbol, to the place of Imperial Eagle, Capitoline wolf, because the Capitoline wolf, inspired by the legend of the founding of Rome, was the emblem of the monarchic and republican Rome, while the Eagle is an emblem of etrurian origin, used only as symbol of the legions beginning from the epoch of Caius Marius (103 B.C), and only in Imperial Age, was used as symbol of Roman Empire. http://www.romanoimpero.com/2009/10/i-simboli-di-roma.html (is in italian language). The Imperial Eagle Faction Symbol can be preserved for the Imperial roman faction.

    2)For the Tower, this alternative technology: Boiling Oil (increase the brought closer attack) OR Ballista (increase the attack to distance);

    3)For the general Hellenic faction (not athenians, macedonians and spartans), I propose to introduce the "theban's phalanx" champion unit and Mirror tower special building, and as a wonder the Colossus of Rhodes, because this faction will represent (in the scenario map) the other Greek city-state.

  6. Hi! I think that has abandoned the project, there have been no news for many months. However they could make avaible for the community the material already realized, so somebody else continues the project, or at least how much he has been done he can be inserted in the game, maybe like an expansion.

  7. Perfect, Mithos! Nevertheless Ragnarock-style doesn't convince me, because in possible maps with the Roman localized after the 100 b.C. the use of Roman hastates, velites and triarii it is inaccurate... for example in a maps on the Gallic wars with Caesar, or in the battle of Azio between Augustus and Marc Antony andwith Cleopatra. In this maps it's better to allow the creation of post-marian legion unit. Therefore I thought about the technology "Mario's Reform" which developed it produces these effects:

    1)Hastates develops in Legionarius @#$% gladio (with sword) (existant unit in the game);

    2)Velites develops in Legionarius @#$% pilo (with pilum) (to be create);

    3)Triarii develops in Legionarius @#$% hasta (with lance) (to be create);

    4)With Extraordinarii and eques consolares, it's allowed the creation of the centurion (existant unit in game);

    Now, I know that the upgrade of units is not admitted in 0 A.D., but for the Romans the historical period of reference asks for an exception, because there has been an important military reform in the period of localization of the game (500 B.C - 0 A.D.) In alterative, we must create a faction ad hoc, the Slow-republican Romans.

  8. Hi! I propose:

    1)To insert the button "Explore" to make automatically explore the map to an unity, as in Rise of nations. (wiev image)post-14925-0-58840100-1370872966_thumb.j

    2) To insert Thebans civilization;

    3)To insert for the Romans the tecnology "Mario's Reform" what it allow to create "legion" and "centurio" units. It's a 107-104 b.C. reform, whit the removal of hastati, principes and triarii.

    4)To denominate the roman "Municipium", "Forum", and the roman "Forum", "Mercatus";

    5)To use, where known, terms Basque for the Iberian units and buildings;

    6)To insert a blacksmith!

    Thank you for the consideration! :)

  9. Hi! I have discovered the existence of 0 A.D. Rise of the East mod, that strives to bring China as a civilization into the game, meticulously researched to be as historically accurate as possible. In addition to the civilization, the Scion development plan to implement a full campaign featuring recreations of famous historical moments, new random maps and other additions to enhance the gameplay experience! http://www.moddb.com/mods/rote

    This mod almost seems complete... I propose to add in the next alpha of 0 A.D. besides the completed Mauryas also the Chinese and the other additions of this Mod. What do you say of it? The next alpha will be the "asian dynasties" of 0 A.D. :) Sorry for my english,but i'm italian! :P

  10. The team is well aware of that, but we couldnt find sufficient material to change it, so it was agreed to use Spanish, instead, that is at least related to the Iberian Peninsula.

    I think you are confusing Civic Centre with Political Centre. Plus, the greeks were very proud of their culture, so to use their own language to name buildings.

    I don't agree. If for "Civic centre" you intend "City", then it is correct for the Romans to use "Municipium", but for the Hellenes you must be used "Polis", not "Agorà." If for "Civic centre" you intend "Town centre" then it is correct for the Hellenes to use "Agorà" (what central square is literally translation), but for the Romans then you must be used "Forum" (what it literally means is central square). In every case, on any dictionary of Latin "market" is translated with "mercatus", "emporium", "nundinae" or "nundinatio." not "Forum". In fact for the Hellenes it is used "emporion" to call the market, not agorà.

  11. My ideas for the game:

    1)For the names of the units and the constructions of the Iberians in the game is used the Spanish and the Latin but the Iberian language was similar to the Basque (source wikipedia). I propose to use the Basque.

    2)The Roman Civic Centre must be calls "Forum", not Municipium, as for the Greek, for which "Agorà" is used. Likewise, the Market must have called "Mercatus" or "Emporium", not "Forum."

    3)To add town bell to make to garrison Civic centre, Fortress and Towers from the women, like in AOE II, AOE III and AOM.

    4)To add the function "Explore" to order to an unit to automatically explore the map, like in Rise of Nations.

    5)To add a lot of more technologies, particularly to increase the harvest of the wood, to strengthen the unity "priest", and other. I love the quantity of technologies that offer for every civilization AOE and AOE 2.

    6)Leos, wolves etc... must be aggressive toward the units that draw near to them and toward other animals like gazelles and sheeps.

    7)The naval battles must be projected like in Rise and Fall: Civilization at war and technologies must be added for strengthening the ships.

    8)He must be been able to create an only unit for every type of hero: only one "Leonidas", only one "Agis" etc.. like the greek heroes in AOM. It is not realistic to create three Leonidas!

    9)To improve A.I. in base to the model of the AOE II's A.I., and for the Naval A.I., in base to the model of Rise and Fall:Civilization at War.

    10)To add the wonders for each civilization!

    11)When the women hunt, must use the javelins or arc and arrows! When they fish, they must use the fishing nets, like in AOE II.

  12. I totally share what oshron has written , and I think that the same can be said for the Carnac stones for the Gauls and the Dolmen of Menga for the Iberians. Some precise statements:

    1) Carthaginians: I had thought about the Cothon of Carthage like a wonder, but it is not ok, because is necessary a water map. Provisionally I propose the Mausoleum of Ateban.

    2) Romans: Colosseum? Is imperial age! Senate? It was an enough anonymous building. Forum? And' a whole different buildings, not a solo! I had proposed the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus because as architecture different from the Parthenon or other Greek-Romans temples , and because it was very important in the Republican Rome. Inside of him the sibylline books were deposited and the solemn meetings of the Senate were here.

    3) Spartan: Indeed the acropolis of Sparta is as the Roman Forum, too much generic. Some particular building of the acropolis can perhaps be introduced...I invite to read this to try to choose a building (the text is in Italian) http://wikimapia.org/1788077/it/L-Acropoli-di-Sparta... the Persian Stoà or the Choros seem important.

    4)Thebans: Temple of Apollo is anonimous, I propose the Cadmea, was the citadel of ancient Thebes

    In base to how much written by all in past and recently, i believe that's actual situation on the wonder (with link for more informations):

    Persians: Hanging Gardens of Babylon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanging_Gardens_of_Babylon

  13. Hi! For the animals I propose to insert an A.I as in AOE; in this game, if a villager or a soldier passed near to a lion or an alligator, the animal attacked him! Besides during the game, if a gazella was found near to a lion, the lion attacked her! Why not to introduce this in 0 A.D.? Still, if the animal is killed, its quantity of food must be reduced alone during the time. In Aoe series is so, this simulates the decomposition. What do you think of it?Sorry for my english, but i'm italian and I'm not speak english wery well. :P

  14. Ludo38, I know that to put Stonehenge as to constructible wonder for the Britons is not historically correct, the same for the Carnac stones for the Gauls or the Dolmen of menga for the Iberians. The problem is that these people have never built "wonder." After all, to historically be precise, then the Persians cannot build the hanging gardens, because built by the Babylonians. We must look for a solution. Also the Carthaginian ones have need of proper wonder, I have inserted the Mausoleum of Prince Ateban only because I have seen that it has already been drawn in the game by someone, but as wonder it doesn't convince me. Sorry for my language, but I'm newbie and i'm italian, i'm not speak english very well.
