  1. You must punish the quitters otherwise there is no point in playing this game online... just wasted 2+ hours playing against player "berttl", and when I was like 10 minutes from winning he left the game... "sorry i have to leave", I asked him to resign at least to which he says "NEVER"... there are many asses out there and you must punish them by subtracting points from their accounts or something. I played about 10 games in alpha 17 and had at least 6 of them ended with someone quitting, of course unless they are winning the game. Many people out there don't have any decency so this is a big issue and kills the game balance, moreover it kills my will to play it anymore.
  2. Hi there, I won't be speaking about the problem that anyone can quit a rated game without losing points, or even better losing the game instantly. I haven't played in a few weeks now (username julijan there) and now that I'm back all rateg games end unrated, I have rated game checked and even though the game ends as expected (by one losing the game) there is no more message "... has won against... in a rated game". Not sure if it's a temporary problem with WFGBot or could it be a problem with my host? I have switched machine and installed 0AD freshly but that shouldn't affect this, as I also haven't see any message for other games which have ended, there must had been at least one I'd seen otherwise in the past 2-3 days. Not a big problem but thought it might be worth reporting as I haven't seen anyone in lobby complaining about this. Cheers
  3. Which steam group? I have just installed steam, added 0 A.D. to games but there is no lobby, group or anything where I can find opponents. EDIT: I've found this group http://steamcommunity.com/groups/0AD, joined it but still no option to start a game or something. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
  4. Hi guys, I couldn't find anyone to play against in multiplayer, nor was there any place which seemed right to do it. I have created an unofficial TeamSpeak channel, you can connect using "codemaker.eunetadsl.com", the server wont be on 24/7 but it's on about 13 hours/day. So if you want to play multiplayer feel free to use it.
  5. It would still be awesome to have a stable community of people willing to play in multiplayer. It may not be a long running thing as there will probably be a lobby implemented into the game som time soon, but still I don't see what is a problem creating a room on TS, hamachi or at lease some official multiplayer IRC channel. I go to the IRC channel but I barely get any response there as poeple seem to be there for dev stuff. Please do something about this so we can enjoy the awesome game until it gets the official lobby. Thanks for the great game!

  7. Another alpha is out but the auto attack range is still to wide. This really ruins the gameplay. Having a "stand the ground" stance along with other stances is a must have to make a normal strategy. At some points I totally lose control and track of my units because some run after some citizens, some run to attack another units, even ignoring my command not to run after them. Lets say you want to gather a nice army for the attack and make a nice formation and some enemy citizen passes by in a radius of 2 km they will all run after it and destroy the whole formation and eventually run into a trap or enemy base. We really need the stances, please move their implementation to the top of the schedule because I feel like the game would be much much more playable without my army running around the map chaotically without any command. At least stand the ground would be of much help. Thanks for the hard work!
  8. I like the idea of building capturing! But my suggestion is: - implement the grepmasters suggestion, - all except economic buildings can be captured, so once you kill all military force of one player (including towers containing units) you get all his buildings except economic buildings (basically he becomes your slave) until he pays a predefined amount of resources, he can't build any military in the time while he's a slave, once he pays the resource he gets his buildings back and has a peace treat of a predefined period of time to get back on his feet I know it's a bit too much to ask for but that would be the most realistic way I think. Once the soldiers of one village are killed usually the rest become enslaved. However, even if it remains as it is (piercing soldiers can destroy buildings, no capturing) is fine for me, and majority of the players I think because most RTS games work that way.
  9. I don't really like how the mele units (short range) automatically start running towards the enemy when it gets "close". There should be an option to make them stand in a place, eventually attack if the enemy gets really close. Something like "passive", "aggressive" and "fortify" stances would be great. Like this I have all my units from my village move out just to kill a small group of enemies and then I have a chaotic formation which I don't really like. I would like the enemy to get close and eventually get killed by towers or some other long range units before the hand to hand battle begins. Also, I've noticed I can select only 40 units at once, why is that? Is that limited by unit types or how does this mechanism function? Why is there such a limitation? (let me know if I should start a separate topic for this, or if it's already explained somewhere). The above two things kinda make the gameplay a bit uncosistent. I really like the game and it has a great potential! Ran across it back in the days when it was in a really early stage of development, units were not even implemented yet and even then I liked it. Today, again accidentally I returned and I had what to see! Huge progress made! Keep up the good work.
