The game crashes at launch.

I have downloaded the game and installed it, but when I launch the game it appears this error message:

Is this the first time you installed the game? Did you already try re-installing and rebooting your computer?

And how did you download the game? Via a direct download or via the torrents?

Yes. Yes. I downloaded it through ModDB, ergo, direct download. I forgot to mention: I have a Windows 7 64 bit system.

Can you check the checksum of your download in that case: http://releases.wildfiregames.com/

Our else download it again. Torrents automatically do checksum tests, while that isn't done for direct downloads.

If that doesn't work, sharing your logs could also help (if the game was able to create some logs and didn't crash to early). http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths

I am not familiar with the concept of checksums, but I've searched and, then, downloaded a program called "HashCalc" that seems to calculate checksums for different algorithms. This is the download I re-downloaded: "0ad-0.0.20-alpha-win32.exe", it is from 2016-03-31. This are the checksums for thirteen different algorithms:

The checksums match, so your download is correct. If you say it's your first installation, and you already tried reinstalling 0 A.D. and rebooting the computer, then I can only guess it's something 0 A.D. can't handle w.r.t. your system.

Can you check what log files you have (I hope the game at least got time to write some logs before crashing)? See http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths on where to find the logs.

Certainly the system-info.txt would help, and also the crashlogs.

If there's no system-info.txt, perhaps you can give us some information on how your system looks like (what CPU, what graphics card, if you have experimented with some drivers, ...)
