acrazymind
Hi guys, we ran into some problems trying to set up a multiplayer game on a local network. There's two of us, we're both on Ubuntu and downloaded the game through the software center, and tried it the host/join game version with local ip. No matter who does the hosting, the one who tries to join gets an error and shortly after the game crashes. The errors are different however, as can be seen in the screenshot. The computer that gets the upper error in the screeny did work fine in multiplayer with a third ubuntu setup. A fourth computer running the game on Windows 7 gets the second error from the screenshot as well when trying to join. I have set up port fowarding for ports 20590-20605 and enabled UPnP. Thanks a lot for any ideas, loving the game so far.

niektb
What version of the game are you running?
acrazymind
Top one is "Feb 19 2014 - 14386-release", bottom one is "Sep 19 2013 - 13796-release". If that is the problem - how would you update the older version? After all we downloaded it the same way through the Ubuntu repositories.
niektb
That doesn't really work well together indeed. I suggest both of you follow these instructions:http://play0ad.com/download/linux/#a0A.D.providedpackages(I think currently one of you did and the other didn't)For windows just download the latest release:http://play0ad.com/download/win/Before starting a multiplayer game, double-check if everyone has the same version. acrazymind
Thanks, I'll give it a go as soon as I have everybody around again. Sounds promising.
