Losing Connection With Server

So whenever I'm playing against someone in the multiplayer lobby, I'm afflicted by a recurring issue where the game stops in its tracks and I get the little message in the corner: "Losing connection with server (3s)". 

I haven't tested whether this happens when I'm hosting or not, since I'm mostly joining games nowadays, but regardless, it's affecting my gameplay experience. Anything I can do? I'm using Ubuntu 24.04 and my internet connection is via Wi-Fi, by the way.

I hope your problem is solved nowadays, but if not I really recommend you and everyone finding this topic in a research: Try using ethernet! (I know it's like IT Helpdesk telling you to restart your PC first but using WiFi for multiplayer matches via lobby is a very common root for problems.
