Massive Lag

Hi!

I downloaded and tried 0 A.D., or at least I was going to. But at the "main screen" in the beginning the game lagged really hard, when I moved my mouse I could see the new location every 20px every second. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit with gnome 2 as my session and I downloaded the game using the ppa, my nvidia driver is 270.41.06.

Is there any solution to this?

Hi. It looks like you have problem, which is discussed here: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13914, but unfortunately there is no solution yet. Can you please report what graphics card do you use? Maybe this will help somehow.

You can switch between windowed/fullscreen modes with Alt+Enter, or you can add following line:

windowed = false

into ~/.config/0ad/config/local.cfg (probably you will need to create this file first).

Also you can change there some other options:

xres = 1024
yres = 768
fancywater = false
shadows = false
vsync = false

Which can improve performance too.
