Cassador_Chris
As far as I've seen, not much has been said about the weather as of late. How are you guys progressing on this area of development. As I remember, I haven't seen weather in any of the screenshots of late. Has this reached a wall in development?Just curious,as always. Mythos_Ruler
A major component of weather implementation, particles, has been stalled for a while now. The programmers are focusing more on stability issues that the moment.

Apomonomenos
Will the weather make up alot of Ping?If so, can there be an option that can remove it?
Aeros
Ping's gonna have to stay in so far as I know, would be pretty difficult to remove that from multiplayer games
Apomonomenos
Well it should be easy if it's like EE2, were the weather is added on top of everything and the game is under it.Think of it like looking through a fence that looks like its raining an after it the game is played, although that wouldn't be any fun for players, more of a nuisance. Aeros
Yeah true, we definatly don't want to have any fences on the screen that players would have to look through in order to play. But what else could we do to get rid of ping? or...? Apomonomenos
Maybe by making the battlefield less graphic when zoomed out like in Stronghold Legends
Aeros
I had a pretty high ping when I tried the skirmish mode in that game so I dunno, but you're right, using a level of detail system so things farther away draw with less polygons is a way to potentially lower pings and dings. Apomonomenos
But remember to keep test after even the slightest change for Ping; because in Medieval Warlords you could bearly get a good view, even maxed in when it's about 1/4 the width of you're PC screen, you would get a pixilized Jam.
