  1. I voted Persians. I like the ancient Mesopotamian (sp?) cultures, like the Assyrians and Babylonians. I know Persians aren't the same, but I guess they are similar. :D They just seem really colourful and unique compared to the other civs, so that might be another reason why I'd like to play them first.

Iberians will be fun I think. In RTS's, I like raiding, and it would be interesting to try them out. Carthaginians would be cool too. :D

    Peace! :D

  2. Hello!

    Thanks for all the tips.

@ CodeOptimist: The floppy drive connectors aren't ribbon or IDE cables. They are more like what you use to connect a modern PSU to a drive, with the colorful wires. Plus the connections are keyed, so they're in right. :P Unless I damaged the connection pins or floppy drive itself (I don't have an ESD strap and I am new to taking computers apart :) ) Is there any way to tell whether anything's damaged?

@ Enarwaen: Thanks for the idea, but I don't know if it will work in this case, using the EPSON by itself, that is. At the moment, I can't get to a DOS prompt on the EPSON, because the computer does nothing after the "EQUITY Loading..." message appears. I do have access to a 486 with one 5.25" floppy. Maybe that will work, although the 486 is much "younger" than the Epson. :)

@ rohirwine: Yeah, as Enarwaen said, copying the files over to the second floppy didn't work. The thing is, that the original boot disk worked fine before I went into the EPSON with screwdrivers and the intent to disassemble! :)

Anyway, thanks again for the advice. (y)

    Peace,

    Mr.C

  3. Hello all,

I know, I've been away for a long time. (y)

I have a problem with an old EPSON Equity II computer. Old is the operative word, the dates on some chips is 1985 - older than me! Anyways, a while ago I decided to take it totally apart and put it back together. After this was all said and done, the computer turned on fine; monitor, fan, video card, etc. (it has a mono/colour switch btw...:P) worked.

Here is my problem. There is a floppy drive that the Epson uses. It's a DOS startup disk or something like that (5.25" by the way). When this disk is in the A: floppy drive, a little message pops up saying "EQUITY Loading..." and a dialog comes up in which you enter the date and time. After that, you can continue using the computer. This all worked fine before I took the comp apart. When I put it back together, it does say "EQUITY Loading...", but except for the Floppy Drive LED shining constantly, nothing happens for minutes.

The connections for the Floppy drives are wire connectors. From what I can tell, the connections are correctly in place. I made a copy of the DOS startup disk by simply copying the files to another 5.25" floppy, but the computer doesn't recognize it as a system bootable disk.

Can someone offer me suggestions/help on what I might do to fix this problem with the floppy drive?

    Thanks a ton! :)

  4. Yo! :P

I downloaded this program a few days ago and started testing my computer at about 10:00 last night. It's a pretty neat program. ;)

I have a question though: If there is an error in the testing, will it be like a Windows Program error when a window pops up and explains the error? Or does this program mention errors another way?

Thanks in advance, and have a good weekend! ;)

  5. @Yieul: Whoah! Sweet, good stuff! Where did you get the formula for that? ;)

Regarding my sci-fi world, it's basically lots of wars between races, but I'd like to make it realistic (like in the history of cultures, languages, military stuff), deep, diverse, and fun.

@CodeOptimist: I think the Huygens mission is really cool. It was neat seeing the stuff on the news. As for astronomy in general, I think the outer planets, like Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune are probably the most interesting for me. Although it would still be better to live on Earth of course. ;)

    Cheers,

    Mr.C

    Be afraid :

Tawsaw is the planet, Kin is its star.

    Mass of Tawsaw : 2,6258 x 10^28 kg

    Radius of Tawsaw : 414 761 km (Diameter : 829 522 km, Cricumference : 2 606 020 km)

Medial distance between Tawsaw and Kin : 125 168 538 km

Revolution of Tawsaw around Kin : 0,7994 terrestrial years (25228821 s)

Gravitational acceleration of Tawsaw at sea level : 10,19 m/s²

    Medial density of Tawsaw : 87,9 kg/m³ (Water = 1000 kg/m³)

Horizon on Tawsaw : 40,7 km

Mass of Kin = 0,9031 suns

Luminosity of Kin = 0,7 suns

Spectral Class of Kin = G1 (a little dimmer than Sun)

  6. Thank you guys! :P

Lol, mini Paal :P. Well, my first name is Christian. As for my interests, I like computers, computer networking (as you can see in my signature :P ), sci-fi (Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate SG-1, plus a world of my own I created a few years ago), martial arts (like my bro, I am a blue belt in Wado Karate), computer games, military stuff, astronomy, marine life, that kind of thing. I also like to draw and use my sometimes silly imagination. :P

    Cheers,

    Mr.C
